Overview
Asagiri Suou is a character in Blue Archive who serves as a supervisory officer in the Supervisory Department at Highlander Railway Academy. Having formerly lived as a wandering delinquent in the Abydos region and worked as a mercenary for Kaiser PMC, she eventually joined Highlander. Calm and composed, she handles interactions with external corporate sponsors and oversees organizational matters within her academy.
Appearance
She has dull blonde hair in a jellyfish cut and heterochromatic eyes, with a green left eye and a golden right eye that is usually covered by an eyepatch. Her attire is a military-style railway uniform consisting of a peaked cap, long boots, black gloves, a shirt, and a heavy coat. Above her head floats a halo composed of a central circle surrounded by three symmetrically arranged rhombuses.
Personality
Suou maintains a poker-faced, cool demeanour and prefers not to attach herself deeply to any organization or group. Although she presents a detached exterior and denies close bonds with others, she exhibits a responsible, older-sisterly side by keeping younger students in line. Beneath her quiet surface, however, she harbours intense personal motives and a deep feeling of void.
Abilities
Possessing a background as a seasoned fighter, Suou excels in combat. She dual-wields two variants of the Mossberg M500 shotgun: an 18.5-inch barrel Cruiser model carried on her person and a compact Super Shorty model concealed inside her coat. In addition to personal firearms, she is capable of operating heavy military assets such as a railway gun.
Background
After wandering the Abydos desert and working as a mercenary for Kaiser PMC, Suou was hired by Nephthys to act as a bodyguard for Izayoi Nonomi, a plan that ultimately fell through. She subsequently transitioned into Highlander Railway Academy. Driven by an intense desire to erase the remaining traces of Abydos, she engineered a clash with the Foreclosure Task Force and Takanashi Hoshino, though her actions were later revealed to be influenced by mental manipulation from the Underground Dweller.
Relationships
Within Highlander Railway Academy, Suou acts as a stern upperclassman to Tachibana Hikari and Tachibana Nozomi, keeping them in line despite claiming they are not allies. She was originally intended to be Izayoi Nonomi's bodyguard. She also harbors deep animosity toward Takanashi Hoshino, resulting in a fierce direct confrontation between the two.
Trivia
Her family name Asagiri and name Suou are believed to be derived from historical Japanese express train lines and locations along the Sanyo Main Line. The name Suou is also speculated to reference the sappanwood plant (Suō in Japanese), which is associated with themes of betrayal in flower language. Additionally, her halo's unique shape has sparked design comparisons among fans to mecha emblems.
