Momoi

Overview

Saiba Momoi is a first-year student at Millennium Science School in Blue Archive. Serving as the scenario writer for the Game Development Department, she works alongside her twin sister, Saiba Midori, to create video games. Bright, cheerful, and highly energetic, she acts as the mood maker and emotional pillar of the club.

Appearance

Momoi is a petite girl with short blonde hair and pink eyes. She wears black headphones with pink cat ears and has a light pink halo shaped like a target reticle. Her attire consists of a white shirt with a blue necktie, a frilled blue-black suspender skirt, black thigh-high socks, and short boots. She drapes a large jacket over her shoulders featuring a school emblem on the right sleeve, a red bow at the front chest, and an attached pink cat tail decor at the back. She carries a pink H&K G3A3 assault rifle decorated with a cat strap on the trigger guard and her halo pattern on the magazine. She also appears in maid attire, winter cold-weather gear, and a protective hazmat suit.

Personality

Momoi is boisterous, highly expressive, and intensely passionate about gaming. She easily grows hot-headed or dramatic when losing in games, yet remains unexpectedly level-headed during emergencies, often leading her teammates courageously. She lacks traditional domestic charm, often keeping a messy room and adopting relaxed, casual postures while playing games. As a writer, her endless enthusiasm causes her to cram disjointed ideas into her scripts, frustrating her sister, though her vocabulary is rich with gaming terms.

Abilities

In combat, Momoi acts as a MIDDLE-position STRIKER unit, using her assault rifle Unique Idea to deal Piercing damage. Her EX Skill unleashes area-of-effect damage in a fan-shaped zone ahead, which adds a burn damage-over-time effect when paired with Saiba Midori. Her passive and sub-skills boost her attack power and critical rate, with extra bonuses granted when Midori is in the same squad. In her Maid attire, she shifts to a Sonic-type attacker, utilizing an EX Skill that grants free, rapid-fire normal attacks without delay for a set number of shots.

Background

To save the Game Development Department from being disbanded, Momoi worked tirelessly to produce a award-winning game. During a search for game development materials, she and her teammates discovered an ancient robot in a restricted zone, taking her in as a club member named Tendou Alice. Together with her club, she successfully earned a special award at the Millennium Grand Prize, preserving the club. She later helped rescue Alice during a crisis involving an ancient citadel and continues to embark on various adventures to gather inspiration for new games.

Relationships

She shares an inseparable bond with her younger twin sister, Saiba Midori; despite their contrasting personalities and occasional bickering, they form a perfect game development team. She acts as a big-sister figure to Tendou Alice, whom she brought into the club, and respects her club president, Hanaoka Yuzu. She frequently clashes with Hayase Yuuka over club budget issues and reckless behavior, while maintaining a lighthearted attitude toward Kei after her return.

Trivia

Her family name Saiba is a play on the word 'Cyber,' inspired by real-world bishoujo game developers. Her handheld gaming console, the Game Girls Advance SP, is a shared piece of hardware among all members of her club. Due to her expressive reactions and fiery defeated lines, she has become the subject of several popular internet memes within the fan community.
