Overview

Motomiya Chiaki is a character in Blue Archive. She is a second-year student at Gehenna Academy who serves as a secretary and council member within the Pandemonium Society. Extremely energetic and outgoing, she moves around school grounds to gather news stories and self-publishes a regular magazine called Weekly Pandemonium as a personal passion project.

Appearance

Chiaki has long straight black hair, red slit pupils, pointed ears, and a pair of black demon horns on her head. She wears a military-style uniform consisting of a black shirt with a red necktie, an outer jacket featuring an armband worn over her shoulders, and a large brimmed hat. Her lower attire consists of black knee-high socks and short boots. She carries a camera with her and has a halo hovering above her head.

Personality

Chiaki is characterized by her high-energy, friendly demeanor and exceptional social skills, allowing her to easily strike up conversations and become friends with anyone. Driven by a passion for journalism and photography, she frequently roams around in search of scoop-worthy material. Despite her pushy and spontaneous nature, she is dutiful as a secretary, adeptly organizing meeting details and keeping discussions structured. Guided by her goal of bringing joy to her readers, she avoids creating malicious articles and aims to respect her subjects.

Abilities

In battle, Chiaki uses a unique assault rifle named Camera Blitz, based on the StG44 with custom modifications including a flash suppressor that generates a bright muzzle flash. In gameplay, she is a STRIKER attacker with Vibration damage and Special Armor defense. Her EX skill, "Is that true?", inflicts massive single-target damage with a high multiplier, but is structurally incapable of landing critical hits. Her supportive skills periodically increase Vibration damage efficiency and boost her own attack power and EX skill damage output.

Background

As a secretary for Gehenna Academy's Pandemonium Society, Chiaki independently edits and distributes the free publication Weekly Pandemonium to highlight her student council's activities. The printing costs are funded through the organization's official budget with the approval of Hanuma Makoto. While she appeared visually in cutscenes during early story chapters such as the Eden Treaty arc, her full identity was kept quiet for nearly three years until she officially debuted and became playable during the event "The Sun Sheds Its Light on Their Serenade." She frequently visits Sensei at Schale to conduct interviews and take photos.

Relationships

Chiaki reports to Hanuma Makoto, the head of the Pandemonium Society, who supports Chiaki's magazine as positive public relations for the council. She dotes heavily on her junior colleague, Tanga Ibuki, often capturing photos of her to include as special bonus prints in her publication. She also collaborates with fellow council members Natsume Iroha and Kyogoku Satsuki. Furthermore, she views Sensei at Schale as a primary subject for exclusive news stories, regularly visiting to conduct spontaneous interviews.

Trivia

The digital camera Chiaki holds in her illustrations is modeled after the real-world Samsung ES73. Her cheerful smiling expression ( > ▽ < ) led fans to compare her to Misono Mika from Trinity General School, earning her the affectionate nickname "Gehenna's Mika." Additionally, her EX skill animation features a playful tongue-out face ( ・ ؂ ・ ). With the implementation of Chiaki and Kyogoku Satsuki, the Pandemonium Society became the first executive council among the three major academies to have all its core members playable.
