Overview
Subaru Kakehashi is a third-year student from Arius Branch School affiliated with the Nicomedia Troop in Blue Archive. Following the resolution of the Eden Treaty incident, she takes charge as a temporary leader for the students left behind at the school. Supporting her peers by taking on illegal mercenary work behind the scenes, she acts as a essential protector for those unable or unwilling to leave Arius.
Appearance
Subaru has short black hair tinted with purple, featuring highlight accents, a braid, and long sideburns, alongside slit-pupiled purple eyes. She wears a black collared shirt with a blue necktie, a black vest, and a white coat over her upper body, accented with an armband. Her outfit is completed with gloves, short boots, and a thigh holster. Her purple halo displays a central four-pointed star with eight slender rays extending outward.
Personality
While possessing a mild and gentle demeanor toward her juniors, Subaru hides a cynical and defensive disposition shaped by a harsh environment. She acts as a protective, motherly figure to her peers, yet holds a tendency to rely on force to resolve disputes. Despite putting up a confident front to mask her emotional vulnerability, she gradually reveals a more candid, reliant side when dealing with those she truly trusts.
Abilities
Subaru operates as a Mystic-attribute STRIKER using her customized assault rifle, Anomoios, alongside a sidearm. Her EX Skill, Overtime Allowance, immediately reloads her weapon and grants a temporary full-automatic firing mode, heavily reducing her attack intervals and changing basic shots into multi-hit attacks. By consuming shell casing tokens, her normal attacks gain guaranteed critical hits and boosted critical damage.
Background
After Beatrice fell from power, Subaru took it upon herself to gather and provide for the remaining Arius students by taking on mercenary contracts. Initially hostile to external help and deeply resentful of Trinity General School, her resolve was tested when Sensei and Arius Squad returned. Consumed by the historical bitterness of her school, she briefly transformed into an angelic entity before being defeated and restored to her normal self.
Relationships
She shares a complicated past with Saori Joumae, having instructed students alongside her despite frequently disagreeing with her severe methods. She treats Maia Tachiki with deep affection as a younger sister. Though she loathed her former superior Beatrice, she acknowledged her capability. Initially cautious toward Sensei, Subaru slowly comes to view them as a dependable adult with whom she can drop her guard.
Trivia
Subaru practices the harmonica as a secret hobby, though being seen playing alone in ruins causes her intense embarrassment. She has recently taken a liking to heavy metal music and explores adapting it to her harmonica. Her customized weapon, Anomoios, takes its name from an ancient theological concept. After stepping away from illegal mercenary work, she takes up a regular part-time job as a signboard promoter.
