Acting as the mood-maker within her squad, she brightens the atmosphere among her allies while simultaneously working to demoralize enemy forces on the battlefield.
Appearance
Otogi features long brown hair styled in a single braid with jellyfish-cut layers and a prominent ahoge, alongside green eyes and distinctive fox ears. She wears a sailor-style school uniform featuring a long-sleeved white shirt, a sailor collar with a red neckerchief, and a pleated skirt. Her attire includes dark bike shorts worn underneath, a tactical headset, gloves, knee pads, a single shoulder bag, and a halo above her head. Visible scars are also present on her body.
Personality
Otogi is an outgoing, highly cheerful mood-maker who readily warms up to anyone she meets. Despite her friendly and playful nature, she can display a serious, expressionless demeanor or a mischievous, slightly sly side. As a attentive sniper, she is remarkably observant of minor details. She cares deeply for her squadmates' safety and maintains a unique philosophical perspective that acknowledges practical harshness while still valuing romantic ideals.
Abilities
Otogi operates the heavy FOX-82 Anti-Materiel Sniper Rifle, capable of high-penetration strikes through cover and extreme long-range marksmanship. In combat, she assumes a dedicated firing stance, applying a target mark to focused enemies while deploying two support drones to scan and attack hostile targets. Additionally, she excels at handling electronic hardware and possesses sufficient technical expertise to repair standard mechanical equipment on her own.
Background
Prior to joining SRT Special Academy, Otogi attended a school within the Hyakkiyako Autonomous District. Following the sudden closure of SRT, she and FOX Platoon aligned with Shiranui Kaya, executing covert operations including an assault on the General Student Council. During the events of the Rabbit of Caerbannog story arc, she clashes with her juniors in RABBIT Platoon over the revival of their academy. After a sniper duel and a final defeat in the main control room, she is taken into custody alongside her squadmates.
Relationships
Otogi serves under squad leader Shiranui Yukino and maintains strong ties with fellow FOX Platoon members Yoshino Niko and Takakura Kurumi, taking personal responsibility for protecting Kurumi's back during operations. She temporarily acted under the direction of Shiranui Kaya. Regarding RABBIT Platoon, she harbors respect for their sniper Kasumizawa Miyu, acknowledging Miyu's exceptional competence after being outmaneuvered by her during a tactical encounter.
Trivia
Her surname Tenjinyama is derived from the classical rakugo performance of the same name. Due to the extreme weight of her heavy sniper rifle, she frequently suffers from stiff shoulders. She has disguised herself in various outfits during infiltration missions. In her youth, she dreamed of building a secret base, an endeavor that taught her the difference between ideal romance and reality.
