Overview

Maestro is a major antagonist in the mobile game Blue Archive and a key member of the enigmatic organization known as Gematria. Self-identifying as an artist and preferring to be addressed as a master of his craft, he treats the mysterious phenomena of Kivotos as a medium for his own creative expression. Although he stands in opposition to the protagonist, known as Sensei, Maestro holds them in remarkably high regard, viewing them as a rare individual capable of truly comprehending and appreciating his artistic vision.

Appearance

Maestro features a striking appearance resembling a wooden drawing mannequin with two heads attached to his neck. One head is painted with a single eye, while the other bears a drawn mouth alongside screws embedded where eyes would normally sit. Both heads show visible cracks, and his body produces an audible creaking sound with every movement. He dresses in a blue tuxedo jacket paired with a matching bow tie, blue trousers, and a white shirt, remaining completely barefoot. After suffering severe damage, he retains a heavily battered look with a partially destroyed face repaired via emergency measures and disheveled attire.

Personality

Maestro speaks in a theatrical and archaic manner, taking immense pride in the creations and techniques he produces. He values aesthetic sensibility above purely pragmatic ends, disdaining approaches that treat art merely as a utilitarian tool without any sense of beauty. Despite this artistic snobbery, he is capable of respecting those whose methods or expressive faculties differ fundamentally from his own. He reacts with sharp irritation when his work is disrespectfully exploited, yet demonstrates an almost giddy enthusiasm when presenting his proudest masterpieces to those he deems worthy.

Abilities

Maestro possesses the capability to utilize ancient underground secrets to create mimetic duplicates of the Justina Council. Through the ceremonial secret known as the Communion of Saints, he can bring forth and activate the formidable entity Hieronymus. Additionally, he exhibits comprehensive observational insight and knowledge regarding various powerful adversaries, delivering detailed briefings on their nature before engagements.

Background

During the Eden Treaty arc, Maestro collaborated with the Arius Branch to gain access to sacred underground rites beneath Trinity, generating mimesis replicas of the Justina Followers and unleashing his unrefined masterpiece, Hieronymus, against Sensei. Following this battle, he confronted Beatrice for corrupting the purity of his creation. Later, a sudden assault from an extraneous force left him critically damaged. After receiving temporary repairs from Black Suit, he parted ways with his colleagues upon Gematria's temporary dissolution and retreated to ancient ruins to reside.

Relationships

Within Gematria, Maestro shares a strained dynamic with Black Suit due to their conflicting intellectual approaches to mystery, though they maintain a working alliance. He harbors intense disdain for Beatrice, who callously weaponized his art without aesthetic regard. Conversely, he admires Golcondas for his rich vocabulary and command of language. Toward Sensei, Maestro feels no malice; instead, he regards the protagonist as a cherished confidant capable of truly comprehending and elevating his artistic ideals.

Trivia

His name derives from the Italian word meaning master or teacher, particularly within the realm of the arts. Within the game's raid content, he regularly serves as an introductory narrator for Total Assault encounters, briefing players on bosses such as Shiro & Kuro, Hieronymus, and Gregorius.
