Overview
Maia Tachiki is a first-year student from the Arius Branch School who appears in the mobile game Blue Archive. Making her debut in Main Story Volume 6: Oratorio of Bygone Time, she returns to Arius following the downfall of Beatrice. She later belongs to the Nicomedia Troupe led by Subaru Kakehashi.
Appearance
Maia has silver-white hair and blue eyes. While her hair looks like a short bob from the front, she actually wears long twin braids tucked inside her outerwear that extend from the bottom hem. Her light blue halo features a central equilateral three-pointed star radiating six sharp rays. She dresses in a white jacket paired with a pleated skirt, three-quarter socks, mid-calf boots, and carries adhesive bandages.
Personality
Having grown up in a harsh environment, Maia has a timid, self-deprecating nature and tends to be easily brought to tears. Despite her fragile demeanor, she harbors a genuine curiosity for learning and readily absorbs new concepts from outside lessons. She holds no animosity toward Sensei or the Arius Squad, maintaining an open and friendly attitude, and greatly admires Subaru Kakehashi.
Abilities
In combat, Maia wields a customized Czech Vz. 61 Skorpion submachine gun, equipped with a sound suppressor, an enlarged skeleton stock, and an extended magazine capacity.
Background
Maia once left Arius seeking freedom in the outside world, but returned disillusioned after being taken advantage of by deceitful adults. Welcomed back by Subaru Kakehashi, she later found herself cast out when the group took a radical turn. She sought refuge with Sensei, and during the ensuing crisis, she used Subaru's left-behind harmonica to reach her friend and stop her transformation. Following the resolution of the incident, she resumed her studies and took make-up examinations.
Relationships
Maia looks up to Subaru Kakehashi, the leader of her group. She shares a close, harmonious bond with Hiyori Tsuchinaga, who has a similar temperament and background. She is acquainted with Azusa Shirasu, conversing with her upon reuniting after Azusa's transfer to Trinity General School, and places deep trust in Sensei.
Trivia
Her name is believed to derive from Maia, a star in the Pleiades cluster (known in Japanese as Subaru) and the goddess of Greek mythology, symbolizing her connection to Subaru Kakehashi.
