Shinon

Overview

Kawaru Shinon is a character from the mobile tactical RPG Blue Archive, developed by NEXON Games and published by Yostar. A first-year student at the Kronos School's Press Bureau, she works as a self-proclaimed "idol reporter" who travels across Kivotos to deliver live broadcasts, news coverage, and commentary. In addition to appearing throughout the main story and special events, she is well known to players for providing live commentary during the Tactical Challenge mode.

Appearance

Shinon is a dark-skinned girl with long blonde hair tied in a high ponytail, side-swept bangs, and green eyes featuring star-shaped patterns. Her halo is directly shaped like a Wi-Fi icon. She wears an open black jacket paired with a cropped top that reveals her underboob, fitted white long pants, and sneakers. Her accessories include earrings and blue nail polish, and a handgun holster is mounted on her right thigh.

Personality

Shinon is an enthusiastic and ambitious journalist who rushes straight into active event sites to secure scoops. She speaks her mind without hesitation, which often rubs people the wrong way when she covers delicate situations without tact. While she sometimes acts as the sensible counterpart to her reckless senior, Shinon is equally capable of getting carried away, once accidentally broadcasting wild gossip over public airwaves.

Abilities

As a member of the Press Bureau, Shinon possesses strong live broadcasting skills, match commentary capabilities, and field reporting abilities. She equips a handgun stored in a right-thigh holster for personal protection, though its exact firearm model is unspecified.

Background

Shinon routinely covers major incidents across Kivotos, such as the Eden Treaty signing and events involving the Kaiser General Executive Board. Her field reporting has led to humorous mishaps, including having her broadcast helicopter shot down by a rocket launcher during a train pursuit, and being removed from a live broadcast after spreading unverified rumors about Sensei during the Final Chapter's epilogue.

Relationships

Shinon operates primarily alongside her Press Bureau senior, Kazamaki Mai, who acts as her camerawoman while Shinon leads the reporting. Throughout her journalism work, she interacts with various figures across Kivotos, such as inviting Descartes to serve as a broadcast guest or interviewing students like Tsukuyo and Fuuka.

Trivia

Shinon has been present in the game since the closed beta test as a live announcer in the Tactical Challenge mode. The broadcasting social media tag '@SINONMAINET' seen in promotional materials is believed to combine her name with Kazamaki Mai's; the tag was later updated to '@KRONOSLIVE' in game graphics to align with the story timeline.
