Overview

Kuchinashi Yume is a character in Blue Archive who formerly served as the Student Council President of Abydos High School. Acting as the senior upperclassman to Takanashi Hoshino during her first year, Yume worked alongside her in a two-person student council to rebuild their struggling, debt-ridden academy. Prior to the main storyline, she tragically lost her life due to a desert accident. As one of the few confirmed deceased characters in the story, her legacy and memory deeply shape Hoshino's path and the history of Abydos.

Appearance

Yume has very long, light aqua-green hair reaching down to her knees with a prominent ahoge, bright golden eyes, a tall stature, and a large chest. Her attire consists of a white Abydos High School collared shirt worn with a loosened teal necktie tucked under a chest harness, a left-chest holster, a pleated plaid skirt, gloves, asymmetric white socks, and canvas shoes. Reflecting her accident-prone nature, numerous band-aids cover her arms and legs, accompanied by a loose shoelace and sagging sock. Her gold-glowing halo features two outer rings with a rhombus and the sun-shaped Abydos emblem at the center. She carries a folding riot shield and a notebook labeled 'Tanoshii Banana Tori'.

Personality

Yume is characterized by her boundless warmth, extreme kindness, and naive optimism. She firmly believes in helping others and avoiding conflict, regardless of how much she might be taken advantage of. Ever cheerful and trusting in miracles, she is also deeply impractical, clumsy, and reckless, frequently getting into trouble and needing to be saved. Although described by her peers as airheaded and overly dreamy, her pure heart and gentle nature earned her the deep affection of her underclassman.

Abilities

Yume carries a handgun stored inside her shoulder holster and utilizes a specialized folding riot shield named 'IRON HORUS' that resembles an attaché case when stowed. Despite carrying combat gear, her lack of tactical aptitude and poor fighting skills rendered her ineffective in battle, often leaving her reliant on Takanashi Hoshino for assistance when confronted by hostile forces.

Background

After her upperclassmen abandoned the failing academy, Yume assumed the role of Student Council President along with the school's mounting debts. Together with newly enrolled first-year Takanashi Hoshino, she strived to restore Abydos, attempting deals such as a desert railway project with the Nephthys Group. However, during an effort to secure loans, she ventured out into the desert during a massive storm, lost her way, and died of dehydration. Her body and belongings were later discovered by Hoshino, triggering the collapse of the original student council and the eventual formation of the Foreclosure Task Force.

Relationships

She shared a uniquely close bond with Takanashi Hoshino, who was her sole companion in the student council. Following Yume's passing, Hoshino adopted her loose uniform style, hairstyle, and her signature riot shield as a memorial tribute. Although later members of the Foreclosure Task Force—such as Sunaookami Shiroko and Izayoi Nonomi—never met Yume directly, her memory remains a central cornerstone of the academy's identity.

Trivia

Her character motifs draw strongly from Egyptian mythology, notably Osiris and Isis. Her signature notebook, titled 'Tanoshii Banana Tori', was officially produced as a physical merchandise item. Design-wise, third-year Hoshino's appearance and gear mirror Yume's directly, emphasizing the legacy left behind. Fans often note visual similarities between Yume and Hiyori from Arius Branch due to their shared hair color and soft-spoken mannerisms.
