Overview
Shichido Yukino is a character from the mobile game Blue Archive. A third-year student at SRT Special Academy, she serves as the commander of the elite FOX Platoon under the callsign FOX1. Defining herself strictly as a weapon meant to execute missions without personal emotion, she is a capable leader who prioritizes the revival of her closed academy. Despite her cold, professional exterior, she harbours a deep concern for her squadmates and juniors, often burdened by her own rigid sense of justice.
Appearance
Yukino has long, straight black hair, red eyes, and a pair of fluffy fox ears accompanied by a tactical headset. Overhead, she displays a magenta halo resembling a high-powered sniper scope's crosshairs. She wears a sailor-style school uniform featuring a white long-sleeved shirt with a sailor collar, a red neckerchief, an arm-band on her sleeve, and a black pleated skirt. Her accessories and footwear include red gloves, a bag, black over-knee socks, and loafers.
Personality
Yukino presents a low-energy, stoic demeanor, treating herself strictly as an emotionless instrument for mission success. Beneath her cold front lies an intensely earnest and caring nature, particularly towards her subordinates and juniors. She has a detrimental habit of taking full responsibility for her team's burden, driven by an inflexible view of justice that often causes her internal turmoil. While acting as a dependable unit leader, she exhibits occasional airheaded traits, such as proposing quirky operation names like 'Operation Kon-Kon' or possessing a fondness for long-stored military rations.
Abilities
Yukino commands high combat proficiency as a front-line assault rifleman and unit leader. She wields a heavily customized 10-inch HK416A2 assault rifle outfitted with holographic sights, a laser indicator, a tactical flashlight, and a foregrip. In combat support, she utilizes tactical skills that apply stat buffs to allies as well as throwing specialized landmines that trigger consecutive explosions after a brief delay.
Background
Following the closure of SRT Special Academy, Yukino allied with Shiranui Kaya to force the school's restoration through covert actions, including infrastructure sabotage and armed strikes. During an operation to detonate a thermobaric warhead in an underground station, her severe methods brought her into direct conflict with her former admirers in the RABBIT Platoon and Sensei. After her squad was defeated, she accepted Sensei's perspective on responsibility, surrendered, and was taken into custody. She was later pardoned by the returned General Student Council President to operate quietly under Sensei's command investigating urban anomalies.
Relationships
Yukino leads FOX Platoon members Niko (her second-in-command), Kurumi, and Otogi, all of whom share strong mutual trust. She served as an icon of respect for her RABBIT Platoon juniors—Miyako, Miyu, Moe, and Saki—until their clash over Kaya's plot forced them onto opposing sides. While initially aligned with Shiranui Kaya, she questioned the extremity of Kaya's directives. Though initially expressing severe distrust toward Sensei, Yukino eventually opens up to them as a guiding figure after their confrontation.
Trivia
Her surname 'Shichido' is believed to originate from the traditional Kamigata Rakugo story Shichido Kitsune ('The Seven-Times Fox') as well as the Shinto ritual of visiting Fushimi Inari Taisha seven times in a single day (Shichidomai). Her primary weapon design closely mirrors an authentic tactical configuration of the real-world HK416 assault rifle.
