Mutsuki

Overview

Mutsuki Asagi is a second-year student at Gehenna Academy and serves as the assault captain for Problem Solver 68 in Blue Archive. Characterized by her mischievous and chaotic nature, she acts as the primary field operative for her squad.

Appearance

She has white hair styled in a side ponytail with asymmetrical sideburns and a hair flower, paired with purple eyes. Her outfit includes a thigh ring, mid-calf boots, and a black bag filled with explosives. Her dark red halo features a rose calyx structure with three concentric layers: an inner flower, a middle ring with four sharp spikes, and a serrated outer ring. She also wears a New Year kimono with wooden clogs and bunned hair, a suit with shorts and white knee socks, and an evening dress paired with fishnet stockings and high heels.

Personality

Mutsuki possesses a koakuma (little devil) personality, enjoying pranks and causing chaos without hesitation. As a childhood friend of Rikuhachima Aru, she understands Aru's bluffs better than anyone, yet prefers to encourage her theatrical decisions to watch the resulting trouble unfold. She maintains a teasingly close dynamic with Sensei, though she becomes fiercely protective and uncompromising whenever her friends are threatened.

Abilities

She operates as a heavy attacker armed with an H&K MG5-inspired machine gun named 'Trick or Treat' alongside various explosive devices. In combat, her default setup drops landmines and unleashes sequential circular explosions across targeted areas. Her New Year variant uses a low-cost EX skill delivering wide arching Mystery damage, building unique stacks upon hits that empower her critical strikes and normal skills.

Background

Mutsuki joined Problem Solver 68 alongside her childhood friend Rikuhachima Aru. During operations in Abydos, her team clashed with the Foreclosure Task Force before eventually assisting them against the Kaiser Corporation. Later, during the regional crisis in Kivotos, she fought alongside her comrades in the Abydos desert to defend the area against chromatic threats, while also taking part in various holiday visits and undercover missions.

Relationships

She shares a long-standing friendship with Rikuhachima Aru, serving as her combat captain while routinely teasing her over her executive pretenses. She maintains close working ties with fellow members Igusa Haruka and Onikata Kayoko. Her interaction with Sensei is marked by playful pranks and friendly teasing. She has also crossed paths with students like Okusora Ayane and Himuro Chinatsu.

Trivia

Her character design and color palette trace inspiration to Asmodeus from the Lesser Key of Solomon, featuring brass accents and red-and-black themes. In fan culture, she is famous for a viral 3D MMD dance animation known as the 'Mutsuki Dance' set to Katy Perry's song 'California Gurls,' as well as the community nickname 'Mutsugaki.'
