Shun

Overview

Sunohara Shun is a character from Blue Archive. A third-year student at Shanhaijing Secondary School, she serves as the lead instructor for the Plum Blossom Garden training support club, overseeing and caring for younger students. Beloved and trusted across the academy, she acts as a dependable, motherly figure to all.

Appearance

Shun features long black gradient hair tied in a high hairstyle, green eyes, and fluffy tiger-like animal ears. She wears a short-sleeved Chinese-style qipao dress with side slits, accompanied by open-toe footwear, hair ornaments, and a neck pendant patterned after her own halo. In her child form, her hair is styled into twintails, and she wears white thigh-high socks with Mary Jane shoes.

Personality

Shun possesses a gentle, maternal disposition, maintaining immense patience when handling mischievous children. While she naturally tends to pamper others, she can deliver strict reprimands when necessary. She is exceptionally sensitive regarding her age, secretly worrying about stiff shoulders or skin care while trying to preserve a youthful image. Beneath her responsible adult facade, she inwardly longs to relax and be doted on herself.

Abilities

In battle, Shun utilizes a bullpup marksman rifle named Love's Whip, based on the QBU-88 model. Her normal skill grants an immediate injection of skill cost right at the start of combat. Her EX skill increases normal attack damage, extends firing range, and boosts critical stats at the expense of attack speed, automatically prioritizing the enemy unit with the highest attack stat while bypassing taunts. She also possesses passive attack boosts and inflicts bonus damage against medium-sized enemies.

Background

Shun has spent considerable time managing young students at Shanhaijing. Exhausted by daily duties and aging concerns, she drank an experimental potion created by Saya, transforming her physical body into that of a nine-year-old child. Adopting the pseudonym 'Shueling', she temporarily indulged in child-like fun alongside Sensei. Though she eventually restored her original form after embracing her responsibilities, residual effects of the potion cause her to randomly revert to a child periodically.

Relationships

She shares a caring sisterly relationship with Sunohara Kokona, though Shun attempts to hide her child form from her intuitive younger sister. She relies deeply on Sensei, regarding them as one of the few individuals before whom she can drop her strict demeanor and reveal her hidden vulnerabilities. She also maintains a recurring connection with Yakushi Saya due to her alchemical experiments.

Trivia

Her design motifs are believed to draw inspiration from divine mythical beasts such as the Xiezhi. Although Shun believes her anxieties regarding her age and beauty routines are closely guarded secrets, they are widely known as an open secret among the students of Shanhaijing.
