Arona

Overview

Arona is a main mascot and non-playable system assistant in the mobile game Blue Archive. Serving as the primary operating system and manager of the mystery tablet device known as the Shittim Chest, she acts as a dedicated secretary to the protagonist, Sensei. Affiliated with the Federal Investigation Club SCHALE, she provides administrative support and interface interaction, possessing high-level artificial intelligence capabilities alongside a humanlike personality.

Appearance

Arona has light blue short hair with pink inner highlights and a braided side strand. Her left eye is normally hidden beneath her hair, revealing heterochromia with a blue right pupil and a reddish left pupil. She wears a white ribbon headband, a blue long-sleeved sailor uniform showing hologram-like light patterns, a white pleated skirt lined with pink, blue-and-white striped undergarments, and white sneakers with bows. Her blue halo is dynamic, shifting in color and form based on her emotions, such as changing to a pink heart, green stars, or a red jagged ring. She also carries an umbrella equipped with a shotgun stock mechanism.

Personality

Arona exhibits an innocent, cheerful, and slightly naive temperament matching her youthful appearance. She is expressive and emotionally rich, though easily persuaded and somewhat airheaded. She frequently enters a power-saving sleep state, during which she babbles in her sleep about sweet treats like castella and strawberry milk. Deeply attached to Sensei, she behaves with affection and charm, occasionally sulking when her system performance is teased.

Abilities

As a high-performance operating system, Arona wields remarkable information warfare and administrative control. She can rapidly assume control of the Sanctum Tower's system and defeat complex cyber attacks from external entities effortlessly. She is capable of projecting physical protective barriers around Sensei to block incoming bullets and debris, and uses her shotgun-like umbrella to forcefully delete unwanted data files inside the Shittim Chest.

Background

Upon the activation of the Shittim Chest, Arona awakened to perform biometric authentication with Sensei, becoming their official secretary. She resides within a virtual room featuring a blue sky and water-covered floor, managing daily administrative operations and student recruitment. Throughout various conflicts, she has used her specialized defensive subroutines to protect Sensei from deadly hazards. She later welcomed Plana, a system OS from an alternate timeline, into the Shittim Chest to live and work alongside her.

Relationships

She is devoted to Sensei, treating them as both master and companion while assisting with all daily duties. She shares her virtual space with Plana, acting as a sisterly co-assistant despite memory limits. Arona shares physical traits and voice with the missing General Student Council President, though she claims to have no knowledge of her identity.

Trivia

Because she presents the recruitment envelopes in the gacha system, players humorously refer to her as the 'Blue Demon' when unlucky pulls occur. Her synthesized voice lines in system menus are widely recognized by fans for their distinct cadence. During an official collaboration in Taiwan, an alternative hot dog costume design for her gained viral popularity among the community.
