Kasumi is a small-statured student with long black hair featuring an ahoge and side hair intakes, paired with golden eyes. Her head is adorned with two black horns and a white halo shaped like a hot spring symbol, accompanied by a demon tail and a cat-like mouth with fangs. She wears a wine-red collared shirt bearing the department emblem, tucked into black shorts, under an oversized white coat worn loosely off her shoulders with sleeves covering her hands. She goes barefoot in sandals and carries a remote detonator alongside her custom red handgun, Red Rector.
Personality
Kasumi projects a boisterous, simple-minded persona to maneuver easily, but she is actually a cunning strategist who excels at psychological manipulation and incitement. Rather than using direct force, she skillfully sways others by framing options to match their interests. Behind her chaotic exploits lies a studious nature, as she meticulously researches geology, civil engineering, and chemistry papers to locate thermal veins. However, her articulate schemes fail against overwhelming force; specifically, she harbors severe trauma toward Sorasaki Hina, breaking into tears and panic when confronted by her. Despite her villainous reputation, she cares deeply for her squad members.
Abilities
In combat, Kasumi employs her EX Skill, Giant Heel Crush, driving a massive drill into the target zone to deal damage and significantly lower enemy defense. Her Normal Skill periodically inflicts area-of-effect damage, while her Sub Skill triggers a high-damage follow-up after activating her EX Skill multiple times. Beyond direct combat with her custom handgun Red Rector, she possesses top-tier demolition and infiltration expertise, capable of planting explosives unnoticed even while restrained. Her deep understanding of geology and structural engineering allows her to plan highly effective demolitions and evade authorities.
Background
Kasumi previously belonged to a different Gehenna organization before collapsing in the snow, where she was rescued by Shimokura Megu. Learning that Megu simply wanted to dig hot springs without distractions, Kasumi assumed the role of department president to handle all logistics and planning. Since then, she has spearheaded reckless operations across Kivotos, such as bombing an examination site during the Eden Treaty incident, infiltrating the Millennium Autonomous Zone during a crisis, and engineering a chaotic train prison break. Though frequently arrested by the Prefect Team, she repeatedly escapes custody through ingenious means.
Relationships
Kasumi holds deep affection for her subordinate Shimokura Megu, taking on administrative burdens so Megu can focus entirely on digging. Conversely, Sorasaki Hina of the Prefect Team is her ultimate nemesis, inspiring such terror in Kasumi that the mere sight or mention of Hina induces panic attacks. She frequently teases Nakamasa Ichika of Trinity General School, calling her 'ojou-chan' while involving her in chaotic events. Toward Sensei, Kasumi gradually opens up, appreciating Sensei's willingness to listen to her geological theories and support her without fear of her criminal reputation.
Trivia
Her personal weapon, Red Rector, is modeled after the Volkspistole prototype developed by Walther in Germany near the end of World War II. Its name is believed to reference Dr. Hannibal Lecter from the novel Red Dragon, mirroring Nakamasa Ichika's weapon named Red Dragon. In the cafe, she shares a unique furniture interaction for the Raw Wood Terrace Table with Reisa from Trinity General School. Her iconic prison escape using a spoon to dig a tunnel beneath her cell floor serves as a direct homage to the classic film The Shawshank Redemption.
