Overview
Nakatsukasa Kirino is a character from the mobile game Blue Archive, developed by Nexon Games and published by Yostar. A first-year student at the Valkyrie Police Academy, she belongs to the Community Safety Bureau. Driven by a passion for justice and a desire to protect the peace, she enrolled with dreams of becoming a top police officer, but her sheer clumsiness and exceptionally poor marksmanship led to her placement in a department primarily handling routine tasks.
Appearance
Kirino has gradient white hair styled in twin braids, blue eyes, and a halo above her head along with a hair ornament. In her standard uniform, she wears a white shirt, black tights, short boots, and gloves. She carries her standard-issue Valkyrie handgun in dual shoulder holsters, alongside a baton, smoke grenades, and a megaphone on her belt. She also appears in a swimwear outfit featuring a purple bikini under a translucent top, sandals, a neck whistle, and goggles, as well as an idol costume with mismatched socks.
Personality
Kirino is bright, earnest, and deeply dedicated to serving the public with a strong sense of justice. She refers to herself using a formal title ("honkan") and always aims to do what is best for the citizens. However, her impulsive and clumsy nature frequently leads to comedic blunders. Despite her lack of practical combat precision, her warm demeanour and willingness to help make her highly appreciated by local residents and children.
Abilities
Kirino wields the Valkyrie Standard Handgun No. 3, modelled after a compact revolver. Her aim is notoriously counter-intuitive: targeting a criminal often results in hitting a bystander, whereas intentionally aiming near a hostage surprisingly hits the offender. In combat, she uses smoke grenades to reduce enemy accuracy. In her lifeguard outfit, she can set up a watchtower as cover to boost her allies' attack power.
Background
Kirino enrolled in the Valkyrie Police Academy out of admiration for elite officers, but her tragic lack of marksmanship led to her assignment in the Community Safety Bureau. While performing everyday tasks like street patrols and search operations, she continuously strives to transfer to higher security divisions. She has participated in major operations, including encounters with RABBIT Squad and the defense of SCHALE, utilizing her knowledge of local infrastructure to support her allies.
Relationships
She works closely with her colleague Nemugaki Fubuki; despite their contrasting personalities, they form an inseparable pair within the Community Safety Bureau. She deeply respects Sensei and relies on their guidance during training and field work. Through various incidents, she also collaborates with senior figures like Ogata Kanna and members of the RABBIT Squad such as Tsukiyuki Miyako.
Trivia
During the closed beta test phase of the game's development, her family name was originally listed as Iori instead of Nakatsukasa. Her personal hobby is food hunting, specifically walking around town trying out different local eateries.
