Shima Konoka is a character in Blue Archive who serves as the Deputy Director of the Public Safety Bureau at Valkyrie Police Academy. Standing in stark contrast to her stern superior, Ogata Kanna, Konoka maintains a relaxed, lighthearted demeanor. Despite her casual appearance and lax approach to paperwork, she is a highly capable officer capable of tracing criminal psychology better than anyone in the bureau. Her reckless methods and frequent rule-breaking lead to a chaotic career record, resulting in her being both the most promoted and most demoted student within her department.

Appearance

Konoka has grey hair and grey eyes, accompanied by a grey halo constructed from six interlocking semi-circular arcs. Her attire features a blue collared shirt with a loosened necktie, a patterned aloha shirt worn open beneath a black Public Safety Bureau jacket, a pleated skirt, mismatched long and short socks, and sneakers. She wears a surgical mask pulled down to her chin, a band-aid, and a bracelet. Additionally, her shoulder bag is adorned with numerous lucky charms and protective amulets.

Personality

Konoka is cheerful and informal, speaking in a casual tone while displaying a relaxed, physical-culture mindset. She despises administrative paperwork, often getting bored and imposing intense physical drills on her subordinates. Despite her lazy office demeanor, she is deeply committed to field work and actively utilizes social media for investigations, though she carelessly leaks her own private complaints online. Her most prominent quirk is her intense superstition: she relies heavily on daily fortunes, shuns black cats and the number four, and becomes utterly terrified when confronting intangible supernatural threats like ghosts or curses.

Abilities

Konoka wields a customized 18-inch barrel shotgun officially designated as Tool, which she also uses as a nap pillow. She possesses superhuman strength, able to ignore tear gas, destroy massive robots with a single punch, hurl phone booths, and subdue tanks single-handedly. In combat, she serves as a front-line tank with Mystical attacks and Light armor, using skills that taunt enemies, deal fan-shaped area damage, and continuously heal herself upon taking damage. Furthermore, she excels at tracing criminal psychology and extracting information during interrogations.

Background

Having lived like a delinquent during middle school, Konoka enrolled in Valkyrie Police Academy simply because it offered an environment where beating up troublemakers earned praise. She adopted her signature aloha shirt style during her first year after her uniform was ruined in combat. In the main story, she visits the Federal Correctional Bureau to inform the Arius Squad of their temporary release based on petitions. During seasonal events, she temporarily managed bureau duties so her chief could participate in water park security, and later embarked on an expedition to search for a Tsuchinoko after receiving a foreboding horoscope prediction.

Relationships

Konoka maintains a close bond with her direct superior, Public Safety Bureau Chief Ogata Kanna, whom she affectionately calls Anego and frequently accompanies to meals and bathhouses. She forms a tight partnership with Sensei from S.C.H.A.L.E., referring to them as her Buddy and presenting them with a matching aloha shirt. Additionally, she bonded with Hakui Tsubasa from Millennium Science School and Ebi Rena from Wildhunt Art Academy through an occult-themed social media platform, participating in real-life meetups with them.

Trivia

Konoka has a massive appetite for garlic-heavy tonkotsu ramen with extra chili oil and no vegetables. In contrast to her bold food preferences, she is entirely indifferent to tea quality, habitually reusing a single tea bag up to thirty times. The television in her dorm room remains broken after she smashed it in frustration over a lost soccer match, and she never bothers to lock her room door because she is confident in her ability to defeat any intruder.
