Kazusa

Overview

Kazusa Kyouyama is a first-year student at Trinity General School and a member of the After-School Sweets Club in Blue Archive. Soft-spoken and relaxed by nature, she tends to stay in the background and follow her clubmates' lead. Although she frequently finds herself dragged into the strange antics of those around her, she deeply cherishes her everyday life with her friends. When the club casually formed the band "SugarRush," she reluctantly took on the roles of bassist and lead vocalist.

Appearance

Kazusa has short black hair with pink inner accents, red eyes, hair clips, and a white halo shaped like a cat pupil. She has feline ears on her head. Her typical outfit consists of a black hooded jacket featuring cat ears and the Trinity school emblem over her uniform, paired with black tights and sneakers. Accessories include a collar, earrings, and rings. In her band outfit, she ties her hoodie around her waist, while her school festival costume features a more revealing "werecat" design.

Personality

Though Kazusa tries to remain calm and reserved, her true feelings quickly show on her face, such as losing the light in her eyes when exasperated. She is deeply embarrassed by her past as a delinquent and reacts sharply when anyone brings it up. Despite claiming to dislike cats, she exhibits classic feline traits, including a sensitivity to hot foods. Behind her cool exterior lies a fierce loyalty to her friends, showing intense anger if anyone dares to hurt them.

Abilities

In combat, Kazusa wields a light machine gun named "Mabinogion" (modeled after the Bren LMG). As a single-target Penetration attacker, her skills continuously boost her attack power, particularly immediately after reloading. Mid-battle, she is seen eating macarons and cake. In her band form, she shifts to Explosive damage, boosting allies' attack speed while dealing extra damage on her own basic attacks through a stacked buff mechanic.

Background

During her middle school years, Kazusa was a feared delinquent operating under the alias "Cath Palug." Her life changed after she saw Airi Kurimura joyfully eating sweets, inspiring Kazusa to leave the gang scene behind and pursue a normal student life. Upon entering Trinity General School, she joined Airi, Natsu Yutori, and Yoshimi Ibaragi to form the After-School Sweets Club, pursuing her simple dream of enjoying desserts together after class.

Relationships

She shares a close bond with her After-School Sweets Club members—Airi Kurimura, Natsu Yutori, and Yoshimi Ibaragi. Airi, in particular, was the indirect reason Kazusa changed her path. Reisa Uzawa, a member of the Trinity Vigilance Committee, is a longtime acquaintance from middle school who constantly chases Kazusa while calling her by her old delinquent moniker; despite being annoyed, Kazusa cannot fully distance herself from Reisa. She trusts the Sensei deeply, often displaying a surprisingly casual closeness in private moments.

Trivia

Her signature weapon name "Mabinogion" and former nickname "Cath Palug" stem from Welsh folklore and Arthurian legends regarding the monstrous cat Chapalu. Due to her popularity, she received updated in-game 3D models and featured in special official video series.
