Saya

Overview

Yakushi Saya is a character from the mobile game Blue Archive. A second-year student at Shanhaijing Comprehensive Academy, she serves as an inventor and researcher in the Alchemy Study Club. Having earned six academic degrees while still in elementary school, she is universally recognized as a genius. However, she is equally known for being a troublemaker who routinely drags those around her into chaotic clinical trials for her strange potion creations. She is almost always accompanied by her companion mouse, Nezusuke.

Appearance

Saya features long silver hair, red eyes, mouse ears, and a thin mouse tail. Above her head floats a light purple halo designed after an atomic structure with revolving orbital rings. Her physical features include distinct fangs, short round eyebrows, looped sideburns, parted bangs, and an ear tag. Her default attire consists of a mouth mask, an open purple jacket, a midriff-baring top, short pants, and mismatched black-and-white long socks. In her casual wear, she carries a skateboard.

Personality

Saya speaks using the self-referential term 'boku-sama' and often concludes her sentences with a distinctive speech pattern. Driven by a desire to craft an elixir of immortality, she applies her sharp intellect to odd inventions, though she frequently insists on using nearby acquaintances and Sensei as test subjects for her highly experimental concoctions. She has an intense fondness for cheese, shaved noodles, and extremely spicy foods. Although she puts her companion Nezusuke through intense lab tests, she deeply cares for him as family.

Abilities

In combat, Saya acts as a SPECIAL backline attacker. She is equipped with her personal customized handgun, modeled after the Beretta M9 series, which she keeps stored in a drop-leg holster on her right thigh. Her primary offensive method involves throwing toxic chemical canisters that inflict persistent damage over time within a designated area.

Background

Demonstrating exceptional intelligence from an early age, Saya obtained six academic degrees during her elementary school years. At Shanhaijing Comprehensive Academy, she conducts research in the Alchemy Study Club, regularly creating potions with unorthodox side effects. When she formulated a skin-rejuvenating potion, it unexpectedly regressed Shun into a child, sparking a major incident in the district. On another occasion, a super-spicy sauce she synthesized unintentionally became a massive hit across local eateries.

Relationships

Saya has been inseparable from her gray mouse companion, Nezusuke, since she was ten years old, treating him like family despite constantly involving him in her research. She supplied Shun with a potion that accidentally transformed her into a young child. She is also knowledgeable about Kisaki's health condition and medication, while keeping a cautious distance from Kai and the powerful Genryumon organization.

Trivia

Her design motif is believed to be inspired by the Ershu (eared mouse) from the ancient Chinese text Classic of Mountains and Seas. Her custom sidearm mounted on her right thigh is also used when administering injections to Nezusuke. In her casual outfit, she rides around on a skateboard.
