Overview

Hakui Tsubasa is a character from Blue Archive and a student at Millennium Science School. She is affiliated with the suspended Pseudoscience Club while independently serving as the director and streamer for the Mo Paranormal Research Institute. Combining a rational scientific mindset with a passion for the occult, she is a distinctive individual who also holds strong conspiracy theories.

Appearance

Tsubasa has short black hair featuring two bun-like tied tips, a yellow hair clip on her left bangs, and a single gray streak. She has a baby-faced appearance with yellow eyes. Her outfit consists of a loose white long shirt worn like a lab coat, a necktie, dark gray half-pants, and a belt worn diagonally across her body. She carries a shoulder bag decorated with a stickered student ID card and numerous badges featuring UFOs, aliens, and secret society emblems. Her halo is circular with an eye emblem inside. She is usually bare-eyed but occasionally wears glasses equipped with a probe device.

Personality

Tsubasa uses the first-person pronouns Wagahai and Watashi. Though an occult fanatic who seriously carries out rituals for extraterrestrial contact, her thought process remains logical and scientific, often making her the voice of reason among her occult-enthusiast peers. However, she is also a heavy conspiracy theorist who harbors strong suspicion toward Seminar and the General Student Council. Despite having remarkably low stamina due to unhealthy habits, she displays an earnest and dedicated attitude toward her respected senior and the restoration of her club.

Abilities

In combat, she uses a handgun patterned after the KRISS KARD, which is equipped with a Super V counterweight mechanism located beneath the barrel that moves in conjunction with the reciprocating rear bolt to suppress muzzle climb. However, due to her chronically unhealthy lifestyle, her physical stamina is exceptionally low, representing a major physical disadvantage.

Background

Enrolled at Millennium Science School, Tsubasa met Shima Konoka and Ibi Rena through her online handle @mo_channel, forming a real-life friendship after meeting offline. Following the suspension of the Pseudoscience Club, she lost the ability to conduct official club activities, fueling her deep resentment toward Seminar. Unaware that her club president, Azuma Mirai, engaged in illicit business practices and became a wanted fugitive, Tsubasa admires her deeply and works diligently to investigate paranormal phenomena to rebuild the club's reputation.

Relationships

She shares a tight bond with Shima Konoka and Ibi Rena, whom she met through her online occult interest network. She holds great admiration for Azuma Mirai, the president of the Pseudoscience Club, and strives to restore their club; Mirai reciprocates her care while worrying that Tsubasa's innocent nature might make her vulnerable to deceit. She views Seminar and the General Student Council with deep hostility, suspecting them of corruption. She also shows strong interest in Sensei, believing they share a common aura.

Trivia

Her surname Hakui is believed to stem from Hakui City in Ishikawa Prefecture, a location famous for UFO-themed tourism and the Cosmo Isle Hakui space science museum. In her initial narrative appearance, her affiliation was displayed as the Mo Paranormal Research Institute before being updated to the Pseudoscience Club. Additionally, due to visual design traits and an intense curiosity, fan discussions frequently compare her to Yutori Natsu from Trinity General School.
