Formerly incarcerated in the lowest depth of Impel Down, LEVEL 6, as the most dangerous female prisoner in history, she was broken out during the break-in by Teach. Possessing the powers of a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit, she ranks among the most menacing female pirates in the world.
Appearance
She is a tall woman standing 361 cm, distinguished by a long, prominent nose and a wide mouth. She has long dark hair, lipstick, and red fingernails. Her attire consists of a pirate hat adorned with a feather and flower, a high-collared shirt with an ascot tie, a large red cape, pants, and high heels. Immediately after escaping Impel Down, she wore standard prisoner garments.
Personality
Devon exhibits an outwardly casual and friendly demeanor, but masks a sadistic and gruesome nature. She harbors an abnormal obsession with beauty, hunting down attractive women and decapitating them to collect their heads, which strikes terror into women globally. She is recognized for her distinct laugh, "Murunfuffuffu." Despite her reputation, she earns enthusiasm and loyalty from female subordinates within her organization.
Abilities
Devon ate the Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Kyubi no Kitsune, a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit that allows her to transform into a nine-tailed fox. This power enables her to perfectly copy the physical form and clothing of anyone she has touched. In combat, she primarily wields a whip, though she is skilled with various arms, including spears and sabers depending on the situation.
Background
Hailing from the South Blue, Devon was imprisoned in Impel Down's LEVEL 6 before being freed by Marshall D. Teach and joining his crew. During the Summit War at Marineford, she participated in the group assault on Edward Newgate. Later operating from Hachinosu, she used her disguise ability against Gecko Moria. During an attack on Amazon Lily, her attempt to target Boa Hancock resulted in her temporary petrification. At Egghead, she covertly made physical contact with Jaygarcia Saturn to acquire his form.
Relationships
Devon serves under Marshall D. Teach as the 6th ship captain of the Blackbeard Pirates, frequently taking on covert assignments alongside fellow captains such as Van Augur and Shiryu. She has crossed paths in conflict with Gecko Moria at Hachinosu and targeted Boa Hancock at Amazon Lily. Following events at Egghead, she was encountered by Caribou, facilitating his communication with Teach.
Trivia
Her concept is inspired by the historical Spanish female pirate Catalina. Early design drafts depicted her as a conventional beauty, but her appearance was adjusted to a fiercer look to fit the overall pirate aesthetic of the Blackbeard Pirates. Her birthday, March 29, is a Japanese wordplay on her epithet "Mikazuki" (Crescent Moon).
