Overview

Igaram is a character in the manga and anime series ONE PIECE. Serving as the captain of the Alabasta Royal Guard, he is fiercely devoted to the Nefertari royal family. To protect his homeland from the underground syndicate Baroque Works, he undertook a dangerous undercover mission inside the organization.

Appearance

He is a tall man defined by his oversized, elaborate curly hair reminiscent of a classic powdered wig. He wears a necktie around his collar. Visually, his face and body shape bear an uncanny resemblance to those of his wife, Terracotta.

Personality

Igaram is exceptionally loyal and protective toward Princess Nefertari Vivi, occasionally demonstrating an overprotective streak. He is deeply dutiful and courageous, willing to place himself in extreme peril for his nation and royalty. He has a unique behavioral quirk of doing eccentric vocal warm-ups whenever his throat grows raspy.

Abilities

In battle, he wields a shotgun disguised as a saxophone called the Igarappa to fire buckshot. Furthermore, his voluminous hair conceals small cannons that trigger and launch projectiles whenever he pulls his necktie. He also possesses high covert capability, successfully infiltrating a secret criminal syndicate.

Background

While serving as Alabasta's guard captain, Igaram uncovered Crocodile's scheme and infiltrated Baroque Works alongside Princess Nefertari Vivi. Operating under the code name Mr. 8 and the alias Igarappoi as mayor of Whiskey Peak, he gathered intelligence. To secure Vivi's escape with the Straw Hat Pirates, he acted as her body double; despite his decoy vessel being blown up by Miss All Sunday, he survived the attack.

Relationships

He shares a bond of profound trust and duty with Princess Nefertari Vivi, whom he guards with his life. He is married to Terracotta, the head maid of the Alabasta palace, with whom he shares a nearly identical physical appearance. During his undercover assignment, he kept a watchful eye on Baroque Works leaders like Crocodile and Miss All Sunday.

Trivia

His unique vocal warm-up pattern acts as a recurring comedic motif. Despite being husband and wife, Igaram and Terracotta are rendered with virtually identical facial and bodily features. During the Whiskey Peak escape, he boldly squeezed his large frame into women's clothes to serve as Princess Nefertari Vivi's decoy.
