Overview

Monet is an executive of the Donquixote Pirates in One Piece. Deeply devoted to her leader, Donquixote Doflamingo, whom she addresses as her master, she firmly believes he will eventually become the Pirate King. On the island of Punk Hazard, she operated as a secretary and watcher for the rogue scientist Caesar Clown, protecting his laboratory and research from external threats while reporting back to her true commander. She is also the older sister of Sugar, a fellow officer in the same organization.

Appearance

Monet has long green hair, yellow-orange eyes, and the physical traits of a harpy, having had her arms and legs replaced with avian wings and talons through surgical modification. She wears a cropped green tank top emblazoned with the word "Happy" alongside black bikini bottoms. Before her physical modification, she possessed human limbs and was seen wearing a striped tank top, blue bloomers, blue high heels, and round glasses with spiral patterns when reading documents.

Personality

Monet typically maintains a calm, quiet, and cool demeanour with a faint smirk. She is diligent with intelligence gathering, highly professional, and lacks the arrogance often seen in powerful individuals. In combat, she avoids reckless direct clashes against superior foes, choosing instead to exhaust them with clever tactics while remaining persistent in taking down weaker targets. She shows unexpected modesty when complemented on her appearance. Her loyalty to Donquixote Doflamingo is absolute, accepting self-destructive orders without hesitation for his sake.

Abilities

Monet consumed the Logia-type Yuki Yuki no Mi (Snow-Snow Fruit), allowing her to transform her body into snow and control freezing weather across wide areas. She can construct thick snow barriers such as Kamakura, move instantly through accumulated snow, obscure visibility with snowstorms, and assume the form of a massive snow monster equipped with sharp icy fangs. By embracing enemies, she drains their body heat to immobilize them. She also wields two massive ice picks held with her talons as spear-like weapons.

Background

Thirteen years ago, Monet and her sister Sugar were rescued from tragic circumstances by Donquixote Doflamingo, leading them to join his crew. Over a decade prior to the present events, she infiltrated the Dressrosa royal palace disguised as a maid to facilitate the Donquixote Pirates' takeover. Later assigned to Punk Hazard, she monitored Caesar Clown's activities while handling secretarial duties. When the Straw Hat Pirates and Marines arrived on the island, she engaged them to defend the facility, ultimately perishing during a failed attempt to destroy the laboratory.

Relationships

Monet serves Donquixote Doflamingo with absolute devotion, dedicated entirely to helping him achieve his ambition. Sugar is her biological younger sister and fellow executive in the Donquixote Pirates. On Punk Hazard, she worked alongside Caesar Clown as his secretary and cooperated with Trafalgar Law, who performed her physical alterations, as well as Vergo. During the battle at the research facility, she fought against Monkey D. Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, and Tashigi.

Trivia

Monet is notable as the first female Logia-type Devil Fruit user introduced in the original manga storyline. Her snow-generating ability shares a similar nature with the Hie Hie no Mi used by Kuzan, with official material noting her power to be a lower-tier variant of the ice ability.
