Overview
Charlotte Pudding is a supporting character in the manga and anime series ONE PIECE. As the 35th daughter of Charlotte Linlin and an officer of the Big Mom Pirates, she serves as the proprietor and head chocolatier of Cafe Caramel in Chocolat Town. A hybrid born between a human and the rare Three-Eye Tribe, she was introduced as the arranged bride for Vinsmoke Sanji in a political marriage orchestrated by her mother. Behind her sweet exterior and refined pastry skills lies a complex individual shaped by childhood trauma and remarkable acting abilities, making her a pivotal figure throughout the Whole Cake Island Arc.
Appearance
Charlotte Pudding is an exceptionally beautiful young woman standing 166 centimeters tall. She features fluffy chestnut-brown hair tied into twintails, with brown eyes matching her hair color. As a hybrid of the Three-Eye Tribe, her most distinctive physical feature is a third eye positioned on her forehead, which she typically conceals underneath her front hair. Her attire includes a long-sleeved dress accompanied by jewelry such as earrings.
Personality
Pudding initially presents a gentle, polite, and easily flustered demeanor. However, this sweet facade covers a deeply cynical and ruthless side created to protect herself after a traumatic childhood of being mistreated for her third eye. She harbored a profound inferiority complex while inwardly longing for genuine freedom like her runaway sister Charlotte Lola. After Vinsmoke Sanji sincerely praises her third eye during their wedding ceremony, her emotional defenses shatter. She falls genuinely in love with him, resulting in extreme mood swings where she rapidly alternates between hostile insults and intensely smitten, embarrassed outbursts.
Abilities
Pudding ate the Paramecia-type Memo Memo no Mi, which allows her to extract people's memories as physical film strips from their heads to edit, erase, or alter them. Her techniques include Edit for modifying stored memories, and Memories Film Flashback, which touches targets with memory threads to temporarily awaken past memories in homies, freeing them from soul control. In combat, she utilizes a 36-caliber strike-style pistol named Walker loaded with Candy Jacket bullets capable of penetrating solid steel. As a Three-Eye Tribe hybrid, awakening her third eye is believed to grant unique powers such as deciphering historical texts.
Background
Growing up as an outcast due to her third eye, Pudding was mistreated by her mother Charlotte Linlin and bullied by other children, causing her to develop a defensive, deceptive personality. She was assigned to act as the bride in a political marriage to Vinsmoke Sanji, serving as an agent in a plot to eliminate his family. However, when Sanji genuinely admired her third eye at the altar, her facade broke down. She ultimately allied with the Straw Hat Pirates, working alongside Sanji and Charlotte Chiffon to bake a replacement wedding cake to appease Big Mom's rampage. Before letting Sanji escape, she erased his memory of their farewell kiss. Later, she was kidnapped from Cacao Island by Kuzan and Van Augur of the Blackbeard Pirates.
Relationships
Pudding maintained a complex relationship with her mother, Charlotte Linlin, who viewed her as a puppet while valuing her potential to awaken the Three-Eye Tribe power. Although initially mocking her arranged fiancé Vinsmoke Sanji, she fell deeply in love with him after he praised her third eye. She adores her older sisters Charlotte Lola and Charlotte Chiffon, sharing a close bond with Chiffon through baking. She took hostage and altered the memories of Vinsmoke Reiju during the conspiracy, and later attacked Vinsmoke Niji and Vinsmoke Yonji in retaliation for their past abuse of Sanji.
Trivia
Pudding manages Cafe Caramel alongside two homies: a jelly named Nitro and a flying carpet named Rabiyan. Despite being nominated for the position of Minister of Chocolate in Totto Land, she repeatedly turned down the official title in hopes that her runaway sister Lola might one day return to claim it. Her official birthday is June 25th.
