Overview
Charlotte Smoothie is a character in the manga and anime series ONE PIECE. As the 14th daughter of the Charlotte Family, she serves as one of the Three Sweet Commanders of the Big Mom Pirates and holds the role of Minister of Juice in Totto Land. A longleg-human hybrid carrying a bounty of 932 million Berries, she stands as one of the highest-ranking and most formidable figures within her mother's empire.
Appearance
Charlotte Smoothie is a brown-skinned longleg-human hybrid of towering height, standing 464 centimeters tall. She has long white hair that drapes over her right eye, blue eyes, and purple-tinted lips. Her attire features a striped high-cut leotard, brown gloves, an unusually shaped hat, and leg armor designed similarly to Charlotte Cracker's. She carries a massive sword strapped across her back.
Personality
Smoothie possesses a cool, composed, and dignified demeanor, standing out among pirates for her high level of self-control and cooperativeness. When facing unexpected setbacks, she remains sensible and seeks tactical coordination with allies rather than acting recklessly. Even during her mother Charlotte Linlin's volatile rampages, she keeps her head and coordinates evacuation efforts. Her level-headed leadership and striking presence earn her deep respect among her siblings, famously leading her to win the top spot in Charlotte Flampe's informal poll for the best older sister.
Abilities
Smoothie consumed the Shibo Shibo no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that turns her into a Dehydration Human. By wringing targets like a cloth or slashing them with her large sword, she can extract moisture from both living creatures and inanimate objects, such as lava. The drained liquids can be collected into glasses for consumption, and absorbed moisture allows Smoothie to expand her own physical size or her blade's reach, allowing her to unleash destructive flying slashes that can part the sea. She can also wring out poisons from herself or her allies to neutralize toxins. Additionally, she is proficient in both Armament Haki and Observation Haki.
Background
Born as the 14th daughter of the Charlotte Family, Smoothie was born as the eldest of triplets alongside Charlotte Citron and Charlotte Cinnamon. During the Whole Cake Island arc, she was tasked by Baron Tamago with guarding the treasury containing the Poneglyphs ahead of the royal wedding. At the wedding ceremony, she helped serve squeezed drinks and fought against the Straw Hat Pirates during the assassination attempt on her mother. She later joined the naval fleet pursuing the Thousand Sunny, using her ability to grow massive and attack from range. She subsequently journeyed to Wano Country with Big Mom's main force, though their ship was repelled while attempting to scale the waterfall into the region.
Relationships
As a daughter of Charlotte Linlin (Big Mom), Smoothie serves her mother as a loyal Sweet Commander. She maintains a close bond with her younger triplet sisters, Charlotte Citron and Charlotte Cinnamon, who often accompany her on missions and keep her power in check. She cooperated with Baron Tamago to protect the Charlotte family's Poneglyphs and clashed with Vinsmoke Reiju during the confrontation at the wedding when attempting to capture Nami of the Straw Hat Pirates. Her dignified character makes her widely admired among her many siblings, including Charlotte Flampe.
Trivia
Smoothie's name derives from the blended fruit beverage of the same name, while her birthday of October 12 is a Japanese wordplay on her title as Minister of Juice ("Juu" for 10, "su" for 1-2). Series creator Eiichiro Oda confirmed her immense strength in SBS column Q&As. Outside the main story, she appears as a playable DLC character in the video game One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4, where her move set is expanded to include long-legged kicks and explosive water projectile attacks.
