Shachi

Overview

Shachi is a supporting character from the manga series One Piece and a crew member of the Heart Pirates led by Trafalgar Law. Hailing from Swallow Island in the North Blue, he travels the seas aboard the submarine Polar Tang. Often seen alongside his long-time companion Penguin, Shachi brings a lighthearted atmosphere to the crew. Despite his easygoing demeanor, he remains a deeply loyal pirate who shares strong bonds with his captain and fellow crewmates.

Appearance

Shachi continuously wears a distinctive casquette cap shaped like a killer whale along with dark sunglasses. Because these accessories completely cover his eyes and upper face, his true facial features remain unknown.

Personality

Shachi possesses a lighthearted and cheerful disposition. He maintains an upbeat attitude and spends much of his time alongside his close friend Penguin. Though he endured severe hardship during his childhood, he shows no bitterness and displays strong camaraderie toward his fellow crewmates.

Abilities

In combat, Shachi primarily wields a long spear. He possesses exceptional swimming abilities and excels at naval warfare, often diving into the sea to attack enemy vessels from underwater. Additionally, he can store massive amounts of water in his belly and blast it from his mouth as a high-pressure water stream.

Background

Born on Swallow Island in the North Blue, Shachi was left without parents alongside Penguin following a high wave. The pair were taken in by a criminal uncle who mistreated them, prompting them to escape and live in the forest. Thirteen years ago, after bullying a stranded Bepo, they were defeated by Trafalgar Law. Soon after, Shachi suffered a critical injury from a wild boar attack, but Law saved his life using the Ope Ope no Mi. After staying with the inventor Wolf, he joined Law to form the Heart Pirates ten years ago.

Relationships

Shachi holds absolute loyalty to his captain, Trafalgar Law, who rescued him from a fatal injury. He shares an endearingly close bond with Penguin, a childhood friend with whom he has faced countless struggles. Though his initial encounter with Bepo was hostile, they became firm friends while living together under the care of the inventor Wolf.

Trivia

Shachi's birthday on April 7 is a Japanese numerical wordplay based on his name, where 4 is read as 'sha' and 7 as 'chi'.
