Conis

Overview

Conis is a resident of Angel Beach in Skypiea, a sky island featured in the manga series One Piece. Living alongside her father Pagaya and her pet cloud fox Su, she is the first person to greet the Straw Hat Pirates upon their arrival in the sky world. Gentle and polite, she serves as their guide to the region's unique customs, culture, and Dials. Despite her soft-spoken nature, she possesses a fierce moral determination to act in times of crisis.

Appearance

Conis is a fair-skinned woman with clear blonde hair, styled in double buns with twin braids and loose front strands. Like other sky islanders, she has a pair of small white feathered wings on her back and features black eyes. Her wardrobe includes a yellow off-shoulder crop top paired with denim short shorts and gloves, as well as a red dress with red gloves and a light pink dress.

Personality

Conis is fundamentally kind, polite, and peace-loving. Although terrified of divine retribution under the rule of God Enel, her strong conscience prevents her from standing by while innocent people are harmed, leading her to confess her forced betrayal despite risking her own life. She is decisive in critical moments, passionately encouraging others to take proactive steps rather than passively praying for help. She also displays a slightly eccentric streak, such as blowing a trumpet at full volume for encouragement despite knowing it might alert enemies.

Abilities

Conis is knowledgeable in the handling of Skypiean Dials and vehicles like Wavers. Despite her gentle demeanor, she is capable of wielding heavy weaponry such as a Burn Bazooka when necessary. She is also skilled at playing the harp.

Background

After welcoming the Straw Hat Pirates to Skypiea, Conis was forced by the island's oppressive laws to guide their ship into a trap. Unable to bear the guilt, she confessed to the crew, inviting God Enel's lightning upon herself before being rescued by Gan Fall. Upon discovering Enel's plot to annihilate all inhabitants of the sky, she risked her life to rally the citizens of Angel Island to evacuate. Following Enel's defeat, she helped see the Straw Hats off on their journey back to the blue seas. Two years later, she runs the Pumpkin Cafe alongside the Shandia warrior Laki.

Relationships

Conis is very close to her constantly apologizing father, Pagaya, and cares for her pet cloud fox, Su. She forms a bond with Monkey D. Luffy, Sanji, Usopp, and Nami, assisting and nursing them after owning up to her initial betrayal. She is rescued from Enel's lightning by the former God, Gan Fall. She also establishes friendly ties with the Shandia, befriending Aisa and later opening a cafe together with the warrior Laki.

Trivia

Her name is a Japanese numerical pun (Ko-ni-su = 5-2-0), which directly corresponds to her official birthday of May 20th.
