Jozu, widely known by his epithet "Diamond Jozu," is a veteran pirate in the manga and anime series One Piece. Serving as the 3rd Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates under the command of Edward Newgate, he stands as one of the crew's most powerful and trusted high-ranking officers. Appearance

Jozu is a towering, heavily muscled man with dark skin and black hair. He wears a distinct set of armor reminiscent of an ancient gladiator. Upon activating his Devil Fruit powers, he can transform portions of his body or his entire physical structure into solid, crystalline diamond. He lost his right arm as a result of battle.

Background

A veteran pirate who has served under Edward Newgate since the era of Gol D. Roger, Jozu eventually rose to become the 3rd Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates. During the Summit War at Marineford, he fought on the front lines to rescue his captured comrade. Throughout the conflict, he successfully intercepted an attack from Dracule Mihawk, struck Crocodile, and took Whitebeard's place to battle Marine Admiral Aokiji (Kuzan). However, during his intense duel with Kuzan, a momentary distraction caused by an ally being shot allowed the Admiral to freeze his entire body, resulting in the loss of Jozu's right arm.

Relationships

Jozu harbors absolute devotion toward his captain, Edward Newgate, whom he respects as a father figure. In battle, he routinely puts himself in harm's way for Newgate, directly confronting Marine Admiral Aokiji (Kuzan) on his behalf during the Summit War. He also clashed with opposing warlords, blocking Dracule Mihawk's attack and tackling Crocodile. Furthermore, he shares a deep bond of mutual trust with his fellow division commanders, including Marco.
