Overview
A character from the manga and anime series One Piece, Dellinger is an officer serving in the Diamante Army of the Donquixote Pirates. As a half-fishman inheriting the bloodline of a Fighting Fish, he acts as a prominent combatant under the authority of the Seven Warlords member Donquixote Doflamingo. Prominently featured during the Dressrosa Arc, he takes part in managing the events at the Corrida Colosseum and defending the royal palace from intruders. Despite his young age and delicate, feminine appearance, he is recognized as a cruel and lethal fighter within the crew's hierarchy.
Appearance
Although male, Dellinger has a slender physique and a noticeably feminine appearance. He wears short shorts on his lower body accompanied by bare legs and high heels. Authentic horns originating from his Fighting Fish bloodline protrude directly from his head through a cap marked with a fighting fish emblem. While his teeth normally resemble those of an ordinary human, they transform into razor-sharp fangs when his inner nature takes over, alongside a dorsal fin-like structure appearing on his back.
Personality
Dellinger exhibits a sassy and provocative demeanor, frequently taunting those around him. Having been raised like a girl during his infancy, he customarily speaks in a flamboyant, feminine tone. However, when his fighting fish bloodline takes control, his speech shifts into a harsh and violent tone. Beneath his delicate exterior lies a deeply sadistic nature; he takes genuine pleasure in executing and tormenting his opponents, maintaining a cold belief that true strength requires no sympathy or emotional sentiment.
Abilities
As a half-fishman combining human and fishman traits, Dellinger possesses physical capabilities far exceeding those of normal humans. He specializes in close-quarters martial arts focused on leg techniques, utilizing his high heels to deliver exceptionally powerful kicks. Furthermore, he leverages his unique biology in battle by charging forward to gore opponents with his horns and altering his teeth into formidable fangs to bite and crush his foes.
Background
Hailing from the North Blue, Dellinger was shunned by both humans and fishmen due to his mixed heritage, leading to his adoption by the Donquixote Pirates as an infant where he was raised by Jora. Growing up as a pirate from early childhood, he accrued a bounty at a very young age. During the Dressrosa conflict, he participated in guarding the family's stronghold and successfully defeated several prominent fighters from the tournament. However, his streak ended when he was caught off guard and cut down by Hakuba, the violent alter-ego of Cavendish, after which he was taken into Navy custody.
Relationships
Dellinger serves loyally under Donquixote Doflamingo and was heavily influenced during infancy by Jora, who shaped his feminine attire and speech. Although he referred to Trafalgar Law with an affectionate nickname in his earliest years, he retained little memory of him and attacked him relentlessly once Law became a traitor to the crew. He displayed clear contempt for Bellamy when tasked with his execution, though his attack was thwarted by Bartolomeo, and he was ultimately struck down by Hakuba, the inner persona of Cavendish.
Trivia
Dellinger's former bounty of 15 million Berries was frozen when he was just six years old due to Donquixote Doflamingo's appointment as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. While the term "Fighting Fish" references the real-world betta fish, the fighting fish portrayed in the story is a fictional species equipped with horns and specialized fangs.
