Overview
Ulti is a character from the manga and anime series One Piece. As a pirate in the Beast Pirates led by Kaido, she holds the rank of Headliner and is one of the Tobiroppo, a elite group of six high-ranking officers directly beneath the All-Stars. She is the older sister of fellow member Page One and the daughter of the former Warlord Hanafuda, proving herself a formidable combative force during the Wano Country Arc.
Appearance
Ulti has long, straight blue hair accented with pink and white streaks, paired with two large horns emerging from the sides of her head and a distinct speech-bubble-shaped mask concealing her mouth. Her outfit consists of a white collared shirt, a blue cape, a light blue miniskirt, and red high heels that leave her long legs exposed. Upon transforming into her hybrid form, her scale skin turns yellow-green along her limbs and tail while her size expands, whereas her full beast form adopts a rounded, distinct facial structure. In her childhood, she wielded a spiked wooden bat, and in human combat, she wields a golden morning star.
Personality
Extremely short-tempered and brash, Ulti frequently reacts with verbal abuse toward anyone who annoys her. Despite her violent tendencies, she harbors a deep affection for her younger brother Page One, obsessively doting on him and unleashing relentless fury on anyone who harms him. She possesses a peculiar habit of routinely changing her speech mannerisms and sentence endings—such as adopting courtesan phrasing or other quirky suffixes. Though she acts disrespectfully toward her captain Kaido, she remains genuinely loyal to him, while also possessing a surprisingly dutiful side that repays favors to those who aid her.
Abilities
Ulti possesses the power of the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Pachycephalosaurus, an Ancient Zoan Devil Fruit that enables her to transform into a Pachycephalosaurus or a human-dinosaur hybrid. Her fighting style centers around devastating headbutts, notably her trademark Ulti-Mortar technique coated in Busoshoku Haki, and the grapple-and-strike variant Ulti-Meteor. Proficient in both Armament and Observation Haki, she demonstrates immense physical strength, swift movement rivaling high-speed martial techniques, and extraordinary durability that allows her to recover rapidly from deadly attacks.
Background
Following the death of her father Hanafuda, Ulti and her brother were taken in by Kaido. After stealing two Devil Fruits from the crew to gain her abilities, she fought her way through the meritocratic Beasts Pirates to become one of the Tobiroppo. During the Fire Festival, she was tasked with locating Kaido's missing child Yamato and clashed fiercely with the Straw Hat Pirates. Though defeated in the battle of Onigashima, she later survived, escaped, and eventually pledged her allegiance to Yamato after being rescued from remnants of her former crew, accompanying her on her journeys.
Relationships
Ulti shares an intense, affectionate bond with her younger brother Page One, whom she nicknames 'Pay-tan,' constantly smothering and bossing him around. She respects her captain Kaido as the future Pirate King, despite speaking to him bluntly. Although she initially fought Kaido's daughter Yamato, she holds no lingering grudge after Yamato saves her and Page One, swearing fealty to her as a master. Her biological father was the former Warlord Hanafuda.
Trivia
Ulti's name is derived from the Hungarian card game of the same name. In early concept designs, she was named Jirai and possessed a scarecrow-like appearance while retaining her Pachycephalosaurus transformation ability. Although the Pachycephalosaurus is traditionally classified as a herbivorous dinosaur, her aggressive, biting personality reflects studies showing the species possessed sharp teeth similar to carnivores.
