Overview
Eustass Kid, commonly known as "Captain" Kid, is a prominent pirate character from the manga and anime series ONE PIECE. Hailing from the South Blue, he serves as the captain of the Kid Pirates and is recognized as one of the Eleven Supernovas belonging to the Worst Generation. Positioned as a fierce rival to Monkey D. Luffy and Trafalgar Law, he reaches a massive bounty of 3 billion berries after participating in the monumental battle against the Emperors of the Sea in Wano Country.
Appearance
Kid is a tall, muscular man with spiky red hair, dark red eyes, a hair-bound set of goggles, and no eyebrows. He sports painted fingernails and dark lips. Originally, he wore a brown coat trimmed with red fur and spikes over his bare chest, paired with spotted trousers and a waist sash. Following the timeskip, he wears a crimson fur coat over an unbuttoned black shirt. He bears a large scar running from his face down his torso and possesses a massive mechanical prosthetic replacing his missing left arm.
Personality
Kid possesses a violent, hot-tempered, and ruthless disposition. Proud and fierce, he harbors no hesitation in obliterating anyone who dares to mock his ultimate ambition of becoming the Pirate King. He exhibits an exceptionally competitive and stubborn streak, often engaging in childish petty rivalries with peers like Luffy. Despite his brutal reputation, he displays a surprisingly cynical intellect regarding world politics. Above all, he holds deep loyalty toward his crew, reacting with intense rage whenever his companions are harmed.
Abilities
Kid ate the Jiki Jiki no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that grants him control over magnetic forces. He can attract or repel metallic objects, assembling scrap into giant gauntlets, armor, or constructs like a massive bull (Punk Corna Dio) and mecha (Punk Rotten). Upon awakening his fruit, he can assign magnetic poles (Assign) directly to living beings or non-metallic objects, forcing heavy metal objects to crush them. His strongest technique is a metallic railgun known as Damned Punk. He also possesses Conqueror's Spirit alongside standard Haki, backed by immense physical strength and durability.
Background
Born on a lawless island unaffiliated with the World Government, Kid grew up as a street gang leader alongside his childhood friend Killer. After a tragic incident involving a mutual friend, Kid united local factions to take revenge before forming the Kid Pirates to escape the island. Earning notoriety across the Grand Line, he arrived at the Sabaody Archipelago as the top rookie. Entering the New World, he lost his left arm during a conflict with the Red Hair Pirates. Later betrayed by a pirate alliance and imprisoned by Kaidou in Wano Country, he escaped and joined forces with Law to defeat the Emperor Big Mom.
Relationships
Kid shares a lifelong bond of deep trust with his first mate, Killer, who is his childhood friend. He maintains a heated, competitive rivalry with Monkey D. Luffy and Trafalgar Law, joining forces with them in Wano while constantly bickering. Conversely, he harbors intense hatred toward Scratchmen Apoo and Basil Hawkins due to their past betrayal of their pirate alliance. He also holds a bitter grudge against Shanks and the Red Hair Pirates, the crew responsible for the loss of his left arm.
