Overview

Page One is a pirate from the manga series One Piece created by Eiichiro Oda. Within the Beasts Pirates led by Kaidou, he stands as the youngest member of the Tobiroppo, an elite group forming the strongest among the Headliners. He is the younger brother of fellow Tobiroppo member Ulti, who affectionately calls him Pay-tan. Having eaten an Ancient Zoan-type Devil Fruit, he wields the formidable physical strength and endurance of a dinosaur in battle.

Appearance

In human form, Page One leaves only the left side of his face visible, as wavy purple bangs conceal his right eye. He wears a two-toned white, green, and black tulip hat with horns protruding from the sides, alongside a mouth mask, collared shirt, necktie, suspenders, leather gloves, and a cape. His hybrid form gives him a muscular lizardman physique standing over three meters tall with a skull-buckled belt, green tight pants, a corset, and a waist cape. In full dinosaur form, he sports short crescent-shaped horns near his brow bones and a slanted PAGE1 tattoo spanning his upper right arm and chest. His animated dinosaur body features brown skin with reddish-brown dorsal spines and a fin-like tail.

Personality

Coldhearted and ruthless like his fellow crewmates, Page One does not hesitate to involve innocent bystanders to make an example of his enemies. At the same time, he possesses a surprisingly earnest side, dutifully addressing opponents by whatever ridiculous aliases they provide, and often finds himself on the back foot around his peers. While constantly exasperated by the intense mood swings and overwhelming affection of his older sister, Ulti, he genuinely cares for her safety, showing great concern whenever she suffers injury. To escape his turbulent surroundings, he enjoys spending quiet time alone going fishing.

Abilities

Page One possesses the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Spinosaurus, an Ancient Zoan-type Devil Fruit that enables him to transform into a full spinosaurus or a human-dinosaur hybrid. Owing to the extraordinary durability of an Ancient Zoan, he can withstand devastating direct strikes to his vital spots, jaw, and body while continuing to fight. In his full beast state, he channels immense physical strength, utilizing his powerful legs and sharp jaw. He is also trained in using both Busoshoku Haki and Kenbunshoku Haki.

Background

Following the death of his pirate father, Page One and his sister Ulti were taken in by Kaidou, who had prior ties to their parent. After his sister stole two Devil Fruits from Kaidou, Page One gained his powers and eventually earned a place among the Tobiroppo. During the events in Wano Country and the raid on Onigashima, he engaged invaders in combat before being taken out of the battle. Afterwards, he and his sister were captured by Who's-Who's remnant faction, but were saved when Yamato raided the hideout, leading both siblings to join Yamato on her journey.

Relationships

He is constantly doted upon and pushed around by his older sister, Ulti, who affectionately addresses him as Pay-tan. His late father, Hanafuda, was a former Warlord of the Sea who shared a respectful cooperative relationship with Kaidou. Although Kaidou was his original leader, Page One later came to serve Kaidou's child, Yamato, after she rescued him and his sister from danger. Among the Tobiroppo, he was frequently teased by Sasaki and Who's-Who, the latter of whom later attempted to execute the siblings following the Beasts Pirates' defeat.

Trivia

His name is derived from Page One, a real-world card game where players match suits to clear their hands. While his spinosaurus transformation originally reflected older two-legged paleontological reconstructions, comic volume releases updated the shape of his tail to a fin-like form to match updated scientific discoveries regarding the species.
