Overview
Jabra is a character in the manga series One Piece. Formerly an elite secret agent of the World Government's intelligence agency CP9, he later returned as a member of CP-0. Among the core CP9 field agents, excluding the commander, he is the oldest member. He ate the Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Wolf, a Zoan-type Devil Fruit that allows him to transform into a wolf, combining its heightened physical lethality with specialized martial arts in combat.
Appearance
Jabra features an Eastern-inspired design, characterized by a Fu Manchu mustache, a braided queue, pointed eyes, traditional Chinese attire, and dark sunglasses. He has a notable tattoo of the kanji for wolf on the left side of his chest. When transformed into his hybrid form via his Devil Fruit powers, his body expands into a massive werewolf-like figure exceeding three meters in height, extending sharp claws from his fingertips.
Personality
While harboring a rough and competitive disposition, Jabra prioritizes quick, efficient assassinations. True to a wolf's nature, he does not hesitate to use deceptive tactics, such as feigning distress or lying to lower an opponent's guard before striking. He maintains a fierce, stubborn rivalry with Rob Lucci and Kaku. Despite his deceptive combat style, he shows surprising warmth and emotional empathy toward his allies outside of missions, though he becomes flustered and confused when receiving genuine gratitude from others.
Abilities
Having consumed the Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Wolf, Jabra possesses the powers of a Zoan-type Devil Fruit, granting him wolf capabilities and immense physical strength. He is a master of all six Rokushiki techniques. His signature combat style is Tekkai Kempo, making him uniquely capable of moving and attacking freely while maintaining the defensive hardening of Tekkai. His arsenal includes attacks like Jushigan, which uses sharp claws, and various slashing and impact maneuvers. He also possesses Armament and Observation Haki.
Background
Originating from the North Blue, Jabra trained in martial arts alongside Rob Lucci from a young age to become a government assassin. During the Enies Lobby events, he pushed Sogeking to the brink of death before fighting Sanji, who ultimately defeated him using Diable Jambe. Following the Buster Call, Jabra escaped with his comrades via Blueno's powers. To afford medical care for the severely injured Lucci, he engaged in street performances. Though temporarily blamed for the mission's failure, he later returned to government service as part of CP-0.
Relationships
He shares a fierce rivalry with Rob Lucci, having trained alongside him since childhood, and similarly competes with Kaku regarding combat prowess. He once suffered a romantic rejection from a waitress named Gatherine, who unexpectedly held feelings for Lucci instead. During the battle at Enies Lobby, he engaged in combat against Sogeking (Usopp) and was subsequently defeated by Sanji.
Trivia
Many of Jabra's attack names incorporate the kanji for wolf, alongside pun-based names referencing terms like Local Area Network (LAN), Dongpo pork, and skyscrapers. He kept a chicken in his room that chirped like a small bird, which was canonically named Suzume (sparrow).
