Overview
Ishilly is a character from the manga series ONE PIECE. She is a striped beakfish mermaid residing at Mermaid Cove in the Ryugu Kingdom on Fishman Island. Ishilly works as an employee at the Mermaid Cafe owned by Madam Shyarly and is a friend of Keimi.
Appearance
Ishilly has long, wavy black hair styled into twintails, decorated with a flower hair ornament. She possesses droopy eyes and freckles on her face. As a striped beakfish mermaid, the tail on her lower body features a pattern of black and white vertical stripes.
Personality
Ishilly has a friendly, warm-hearted demeanor, effortlessly forming quick bonds with newcomers like Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates upon their arrival. However, she also displays a gullible and naive side, such as mistaking a stray barrel for hidden treasure and casually opening it.
Abilities
Ishilly displays no combat abilities in the story. Following the resolution of the Fishman Island arc, she demonstrates skill as a dancer, taking part in a festive performance alongside other female mermaids during the celebratory banquet held at Ryugu Palace.
Background
When the Neptune Army arrived looking for the Straw Hat Pirates, Ishilly attempted to hide Sanji by pressing him against her chest; however, this triggered an extreme nosebleed from Sanji that inadvertently exposed the group. Later, she opened a drifting barrel at the cove, inadvertently releasing the pirate Caribou, who kidnapped her and several other mermaids. They were eventually freed inside the Ryugu Palace treasury. Her account of the abduction to the guards helped clear the Straw Hat Pirates of false suspicions.
Relationships
Ishilly is a close friend of Keimi and serves as a staff member under Madam Shyarly at the Mermaid Cafe. She maintains a friendly acquaintance with Monkey D. Luffy, Usopp, Sanji, and Tony Tony Chopper. During the island's crisis, she was captured alongside fellow mermaids, including Fillonce, by the pirate Caribou.
Trivia
Ishilly's official birthday is set on May 4th. In secondary creations and fan illustrations, the distinctive freckles on her face are frequently omitted.
