Pell is a character in the manga and anime series One Piece, serving as a vice-commander of the Alabasta Royal Guard. Renowned as the desert kingdom's formidable strongest warrior, he is widely known by his epithet "Pell the Falcon." Alongside his fellow commander Chaka, he acts as a chief protector of the realm.

Appearance

Pell has short black hair, black eyes, and purple markings beneath his eyes that evoke a falcon. He wears a white turban on his head, jewelry, and a long white flowing robe decorated with purple star patterns. He carries a large sword at his side and can manifest wings and black feathers when transforming.

Personality

Pell is remarkably serious, honorable, and fiercely loyal to the Nefertari royal family. Possessing a deep sense of duty, he acts as a gentle yet firm guardian to Princess Nefertari Vivi, having affectionately watched over her since early childhood. He harbors a profound spirit of self-sacrifice, willing to risk his own life to protect his country and its people.

Abilities

Pell ate the Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Falcon, a Zoan-type Devil Fruit that grants him one of the few globally recognized flying abilities. This power allows him to transform into a full falcon or a human-falcon hybrid, enabling high-speed aerial movement, reconnaissance, and effective combat capabilities from above.

Background

As a vice-commander of the Royal Guard, Pell has long dedicated himself to guarding the Nefertari dynasty and preserving peace in Alabasta. During the civil war orchestrated by Crocodile, he took desperate action to save the capital of Alubarna and Princess Vivi by carrying a powerful time bomb high into the atmosphere, miraculously surviving the immense blast.

Relationships

Pell maintains a deep, protective bond with Princess Nefertari Vivi, whom he has cared for since her youth, often allowing her to ride on his back in bird form. He also shares a close professional bond and mutual trust with Chaka, his fellow vice-commander of the Alabasta Royal Guard.

Trivia

Pell's Devil Fruit ability is noted within the story as conferring one of only five known flying powers in the world. His dramatic survival after taking a massive explosion at point-blank range remains one of the most widely discussed events among the series' fanbase.
