Overview
Arisa Gunhale is a supporting character in the second generation of Mobile Suit Gundam AGE. Holding the rank of Lance Corporal in the Earth Federation Forces, she serves as a mobile suit pilot aboard the battleship Diva under the Woolf Squad. As the daughter of Dique Gunhale, she plays a prominent role alongside her squadmates, piloting the mass-produced RGE-G1100 Adele.
Appearance
Arisa has long blue or aqua hair styled into a single braid, with part of her hair falling over one eye. She wears a headband and has yellow eyes. Her standard attire includes gloves, pants, and a jacket suited for her duties in the military.
Personality
Generally cheerful, friendly, and outgoing, Arisa initially displays moments of timidity in early real-combat encounters due to her lack of experience, though she steadily overcomes this as she gains fight time. While she insists she takes after her mother in looks, her energetic demeanor heavily mirrors her father. She frequently offers support and encouragement to Asem Asuno when he struggles.
Abilities
Arisa operates the Earth Federation's mass-produced RGE-G1100 Adele. Rather than strictly adhering to operation manuals while piloting, she tends to treat the physical manual as a charm or lucky item in the cockpit. In video game adaptations, her fighting style is depicted as aggressive, charging headlong into combat.
Background
Born to Dique Gunhale, Arisa joined the Earth Federation Forces at the age of 18 and was assigned to the Diva's Woolf Squad alongside Asem Asuno and Max Hartway. In novel adaptations, she knew Asem prior to enlistment and underwent grueling training. By the time of the third story arc, she has married and retired to raise her son, Wootbit Gunhale, imposing a strict upbringing on him.
Relationships
Arisa is the daughter of Dique Gunhale and the mother of Wootbit Gunhale, who later serves on the Diva. She maintains a close friendship with her squadmate Asem Asuno, often comforting him during tough times. In the novel version, her dynamic with Romary Stone carries an element of romantic rivalry regarding Asem.
Trivia
Her son Wootbit mentions that she instilled a firm moral rule in him, teaching him that agreeing with something wrong is worse than dying. Despite relying on instinct while piloting, she maintains a unique habit of keeping the operational handbook in her suit purely as a good luck charm.
