Tiffa is a slender girl with doll-like facial features, purple eyes, and long brown hair reaching down to her lower back, which is tied simply at the nape of her neck with parted and blunt bangs. She typically wears a loose, wisteria-purple long-sleeved dress. Her apparel across various depictions includes a purple shirt, long skirts, a pink skirt, and an Arabian dancer costume complemented by accessories such as bracelets, armlets, an anklet, rings, and a veil.
Personality
Having been raised as a research subject, Tiffa is initially quiet, reserved, and resigned to her fate. However, interacting with Garrod Ran—whose passion repeatedly defies her precognitive visions—causes her to gradually open her heart. Beneath her quiet demeanor lies a steadfast inner strength; even when captured or placed in severe captivity, she endures her situation with calm resilience.
Abilities
As a natural-born Newtype, Tiffa possesses exceptionally high precognitive abilities. She can translate her prophetic dreams into detailed paintings on canvas to guide the Freeden. In combat, her powers interact with the Satellite Cannon system to grant authorization and guidance to Garrod Ran's Gundam. She also exhibits the distinct ability to communicate mentally with sea creatures such as dolphins.
Background
Tiffa was held as a test subject at the Alternative Company before being taken out by Jamil Neate's Freeden crew. When Garrod Ran infiltrated the Freeden on behalf of the company to retrieve her, she guided him to the long-abandoned Gundam X. Due to the high strategic value of her Newtype powers, she is repeatedly targeted and captured by opposing forces throughout her journey, but she faces these ordeals alongside her companions.
Relationships
Garrod Ran is her romantic partner, whose relentless devotion inspires her to break out of her shell. She respects Jamil Neate and Sara Tyrel as her leaders on the land-ship Freeden, and she maintains friendly relationships with crew members and acquaintances including Witz Suu, Roybea Loy, and Ennil El.
Trivia
Character designer Seihou Nishimura was inspired by the character Hotaru Sakurakouji from The Brave Express Da-Garn when reading the initial project proposal, leading to a design overlap between the two characters. Additionally, a brief sequence in the anime where she walks into the ocean by herself generated significant discussion and fan theories regarding her attire.
