Overview
Chibodee Crocket is a character from Mobile Fighter G Gundam. Serving as the representative Gundam Fighter for Neo America, he pilots the GF13-006NA Gundam Maxter. Having risen from an orphaned street urchin in the slums of New York to become an undefeated colony boxing champion with 100 consecutive victories, he embodies the American Dream. He enters the 13th Gundam Fight with the goal of bringing Neo America to the pinnacle of the universe, later inheriting the title of Queen of Spades within the Shuffle Alliance.
Appearance
Chibodee features dark blue hair with pink streaks, prominent sideburns, and green eyes. His casual attire consists of a red shirt bearing a star mark, blue denim pants, and a long light-blue jacket adorned with fringe decorations at the shoulders. His fighting suit is dark blue with a thick white line and a star emblem across the chest, accompanied by hand wraps in the manga adaptation.
Personality
Chibodee is a cheerful, highly expressive, and passionate individual with strong patriotic feelings. He frequently addresses his fellow fighters by geographic demonyms. While quick-tempered and not inclined toward complex planning, his fierce drive to pursue his dreams commands respect. Deeply revered by the residents of the downtown slums, he takes pride in being their beacon of hope. Following a humbling defeat against Domon Kasshu, he views him as a primary rival. Due to a tragic childhood incident where terrorists attacked a circus and separated him from his mother, he suffers from a severe phobia of clowns.
Abilities
As an undefeated boxing champion with a 100-0 record, Chibodee possesses exceptional martial arts prowess, capable of generating shockwaves with his bare punches. In mobile suit combat, he employs a boxing-centric fighting style while piloting the Gundam Maxter. In addition to his punch-based combat techniques, he is skilled in quick-draw marksmanship and is proficient in gambling and American football.
Background
As a child, Chibodee was separated from his mother during a terrorist attack by armed clowns at a circus right before their planned departure to the space colony. Left behind as an orphan, he survived in the slums of New York through theft and street fighting. His raw fighting talent caught the attention of Neo American officials, allowing him to travel to the colonies and become an undefeated boxing champ. Selected as Neo America's representative for the 13th Gundam Fight, he overcomes his past trauma and deepens his strength through rivalry and combat against the Devil Gundam.
Relationships
Chibodee shares a fierce rivalry with Domon Kasshu, who inspired his growth after defeating him in their first match. Though he often clashes with Georges de Sand due to differing personalities and formal manners, they hold mutual respect as comrades-in-arms. He shares a strong bond with Sai Saici and Argo Gulskii as fellow members of the Shuffle Alliance. He is constantly supported and accompanied by the 'Chibodee Gals' (Shirley, Janet, Cath, and Bunny), four young girls from his hometown slums who serve as his crew.
Trivia
In the manga adaptation Chokyu! Mobile Fighter G Gundam, Chibodee pilots an upgraded successor machine, the Gundam Max Revolver, during the finals league. In another side-story manga set after the 13th Gundam Fight, he is temporarily infected by Devil Gundam cells.
