Appearance
Designed by Kunio Okawara, the Build Burning Gundam is a white, red, and blue Gundam-type unit featuring a crest with a V-fin. It incorporates distinctive clear blue-colored translucent parts embedded throughout its body frame to store and channel Plavsky particles, even in areas usually covered by outer armor. When entering the Assimilation state, these translucent sections shift color, and dramatic fire-like particle effects erupt from its backpack.
Abilities
Lacking beam rifles, shields, head vulcans, or beam sabers, the unit relies on high flexibility, broad articulation range, and rapid mobility to execute the Jigen Haoh School martial arts techniques of its pilot. Its strikes include the straight punch Seiken-zuki, the charging Shippu-zuki, the diving Seisou-geri, the rising Souten Guren-ken, the tornado-generating Senpuu Tatsumaki-geri, the spinning Ryusei Rasen-ken, and the shockwave-emitting Hadou Reppaku-ken. It can combine with Winning Gundam parts to form the Winning Knuckle for the Dangan Hagan-ken, and release a fiery avian projectile called the Houou Haoh-ken. Through Assimilation, the suit links directly with the pilot's senses to enhance power, though physical damage to the machine reflects onto the operator.
Background
Built by Iori Sei as a tuned machine meant for a future reunion with Reiji, the Gunpla was concealed inside a Dom shell stored within a trophy at Seihou Academy. When Kamiki Sekai joined the Gunpla Battle Club, he accidentally freed the machine during a match, adopting it as his primary unit. Although Sekai initially lacked the maintenance skills to repair the precision craft, guidance from Kijima Shia allowed him to handle its upkeep. After the unit suffered mechanical strain from executing the powerful Houou Haoh-ken, it was overhauled by Team Try Fighters into the Try Burning Gundam.
Relationships
The machine was crafted by Iori Sei, drawing lineage from his earlier Star Build Strike Gundam design. Its primary pilot is Kamiki Sekai. It performs joint maneuvers with Hoshino Fumina's Winning Gundam to utilize the Winning Knuckle equipment. Sekai also received building and maintenance advice from Kijima Shia to properly repair the machine.
Trivia
The term Burning Gundam mirrors the North American release title of God Gundam from Mobile Fighter G Gundam, though the naming similarity was coincidental during production. One of its unique attack patterns, the Senkou Majutsu-geri, visually combines classic professional wrestling techniques such as a dropkick and a Shining Wizard.
