Overview
Maisie May is a character in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury. She is a second-year student in the Pilot Department at the Asticassia School of Technology and a member of Grassley House. As one of the five female students who closely support Shaddiq Zenelli, she is characterized by her extraordinarily cheerful and optimistic attitude.
Appearance
She features green hair tied into a ponytail with parted bangs and long sidelocks, paired with purple eyes. She wears the standard Grassley House school uniform and is also depicted in swimsuit attire featuring a purple halterneck string bikini.
Personality
She possesses a bright, cheerful demeanor and easily gets along with others. While caring toward her teammates, she sometimes utters blunt or insensitive comments without malicious intent. Most strikingly, she maintains an unfading smile and lighthearted tone even during violent altercations and high-stakes operations, projecting a chilling unbothered air. However, her emotions are not entirely missing, as she demonstrates visible distress when her close comrades face mortal danger in battle.
Abilities
She demonstrates high mobility and combat skill in mobile suit piloting, operating machines such as the Beguir-Pende and Heindree. In individual combat, she exhibits acrobatic maneuvers, closing in under fire to sever an opponent's head with her unit's leg before spinning to precisely shoot down another enemy's weaponry and head unit. During group duels, she methodically targets opponent heads and willingly sacrifices her own unit to physically restrain hostile machines. Additionally, she executes armed covert operations with unhesitating efficiency.
Background
Raised as an Earthian orphan in the Grassley Academy re-education facility alongside Shaddiq Zenelli and her teammates, she eventually enrolled at the Asticassia School of Technology. Fully committed to Shaddiq's secret plan to dismantle the Benerit Group, she participated in the abduction of Sarius Zenelli and combat operations against Cathedral forces. Although captured and detained following their defeat, she was later released three years after the conflict and began working under Miorine Rembran.
Relationships
She is deeply loyal to Shaddiq Zenelli, following his instructions to fulfill his broader goals. Having grown up together in the Grassley Academy, she maintains a strong bond with Sabina Fardin, Renee Costa, Ireesha Plano, and Henao Jazz, often offering reassuring words to Ireesha when the latter grows anxious. Though previously opposing Miorine Rembran in conflicts, she eventually serves as her employee following her release.
Trivia
Among fans, she is widely recognized as a member of "Shaddiq's Girls," the five female squad pilots assisting Shaddiq. Her unfazing smile during violent and high-stress operations became a notable talking point among viewers. During her detention, she was pictured sitting peacefully with a relaxed smile.
