Regene Regetta

Overview

Regene Regetta is a character from Mobile Suit Gundam 00. Created as a Meister-type Innovade under Ribbons Almark to fulfill the Aeolia Plan, Regene shares the exact base sequence pattern 0988 genetic code with Tieria Erde. Biologically genderless, Regene ostensibly serves alongside Ribbons while secretly pursuing an independent agenda to undermine his authority.

Appearance

Due to sharing the base sequence pattern 0988 DNA with Tieria Erde, Regene Regetta has a facial appearance very similar to Tieria's. Physical attributes include purple hair decorated with a hair ribbon, paired with red and yellow eyes.

Personality

Unlike other Innovades who obey Ribbons Almark faithfully, Regene Regetta maintains an insolent and defiant demeanor toward Ribbons. Regene strongly resents Ribbons' belief in his own superiority over others. Highly calculating and secretive, Regene manipulates third parties behind the scenes and acts independently without authorization, including directly attempting to recruit Tieria Erde.

Abilities

Regene Regetta interfaces with the supercomputer Veda using brain quantum waves. In the official side story, Regene awakens a unique capability to forcibly overload both original GN Drives and Pseudo-GN Drives at will, which was demonstrated on the Garm Gundam's Pseudo-GN Drive. After physical destruction, Regene's consciousness survives inside Veda, allowing interference with quantum wave links. Regene is also registered as the pilot for units such as the 1.5 Gundam.

Background

Created to carry out the Aeolia Plan, Regene Regetta opposed Ribbons Almark's ambitions and secretly fed information to Celestial Being through Wang Liu-mei and Nena Trinity. In a past Veda-guided mission, Regene intervened using Beside Pain, resulting in the loss of memories pertaining to that operation. During the final showdown, after realizing Ribbons had anticipated every secret scheme, Regene shot Ribbons' physical body in a rage, only to be gunned down by Ali al-Saachez. However, Regene's consciousness survived within Veda and took advantage of the 00 Raiser's Trans-Am Burst to cut Ribbons' connection, enabling Tieria Erde to reclaim the system.

Relationships

Regene Regetta shares a genetic pattern with Tieria Erde, whom Regene contacted individually and later assisted in reclaiming Veda. While acting as a subordinate colleague to Ribbons Almark, Regene despised his arrogance and plotted his downfall. Regene used Wang Liu-mei and Nena Trinity as conduits for intelligence leaks, previously manipulated Beside Pain, and was ultimately killed by Ali al-Saachez.

Trivia

Unlike other Innovades who actively piloted mobile suits on the front lines, Regene Regetta remained in the shadows conducting covert plotting during the main animated series, earning the character a lighthearted reputation as a 'NEET' within the fandom. Additionally, Regene is the sole Innovade under Ribbons' faction whose consciousness data permanently survived within Veda after physical death.
