Overview

The GF13-050NSW Nobel Gundam is a Neo Sweden representative Mobile Fighter featured in Mobile Fighter G Gundam, piloted by Allenby Beardsley. Designed by Hajime Katoki, it holds the distinction of being the first female-proportioned Gundam unit in the franchise's history. Resembling a female student in a sailor uniform, the machine combines high mobility and light-footed combat maneuvers. Fitted with specialized weaponry inspired by rhythmic gymnastics equipment, it delivers unique yet highly effective martial strikes. Despite its graceful design, the unit conceals a forbidden system that plays a pivotal role in the series' story.

Appearance

Standing 16.2 meters tall with a body weight of 7.0 metric tons, the Nobel Gundam features a slender silhouette designed after a female wearing a sailor uniform. Extending from the rear of its head are long yellow parts resembling human hair, which function as cooling fins. When its Berserker System is activated, the entire machine glows solid red, and the head cooling fins bristle sharply upwards.

Personality

Under normal operation, the Nobel Gundam reflects the pilot's agile and flexible movements, fighting with swift and graceful maneuvers. However, once the Berserker System is forcibly triggered from the outside, its combat demeanor changes drastically into a state of feral savagery. In this violent mode, it abandons calculated tactics in favor of uninhibited, beast-like physical strikes and relentless close-range rushes, brutally overpowering targets without regard for finesse.

Abilities

Built around speed and high mobility, the machine possesses a sturdy internal frame despite its slender silhouette. Its sole ranged armament is a pair of vulcans used primarily for fire restraint. Its main arsenal consists of beam weaponry inspired by rhythmic gymnastics, including the Beam Ribbon—which forms a flexible beam blade for evasive strikes and defense—and the Beam Hula Hoop, which can be wielded directly or thrown as a razor-sharp projectile. Combining both yields the continuous attack known as the Nobel Hula Hoop. Normally utilizing military martial arts in close quarters, the unit can also execute the Bakunetsu God Finger by tapping into the God Gundam's energy. Under the externally operated Berserker System, its speed and power spike dramatically, enabling brutal close-quarters wild assaults such as the Berserker Rush.

Background

Developed by Neo Sweden for the 13th Gundam Fight, the Nobel Gundam served as the primary machine for representative fighter Allenby Beardsley. While Allenby aimed to fight purely for the joy of martial competition, team leaders covertly installed the illegal Berserker System, forcibly driving the machine to annihilate targets like the Bolt Gundam. Throughout the tournament, the Nobel Gundam developed a strong bond with Domon Kasshu and his God Gundam, fighting alongside him in tag matches. However, it was later targeted by Wong Yunfat and infected with Devil Gundam cells, transforming it into the monstrous Walter Gundam. After being defeated and freed by Rain Mikamura in her Rising Gundam, a backup spare unit was later deployed to support the final battle against the Devil Gundam.

Relationships

The machine is piloted by Allenby Beardsley, whose clean fighting spirit contrasts with the underhanded tactics of her superiors. It shares a deep bond and mutual respect with Domon Kasshu and his God Gundam, performing joint battle maneuvers during tournament fights. Major Holbein of the Neo Sweden team repeatedly triggered the unit's forbidden Berserker System against Allenby's wishes, leading to the rapid defeat of Argo Gulskii's Bolt Gundam. Later, Wong Yunfat weaponized the unit by infecting it with DG cells, leading to a fateful clash with Rain Mikamura and her Rising Gundam, who successfully destroyed the corrupted machine to rescue the pilot.

Trivia

The unit's name is derived from the famous Swedish chemist Alfred Nobel. Designed by Hajime Katoki, its structure incorporates elements of his Gundam Ver.Ka design reimagined into a female form, earning it the affectionate fan nickname Sailor Gundam. As the Gundam franchise's first officially designated female-type Mobile Fighter, it holds a unique legacy. In the manga adaptation illustrated by Koichi Tokita, an upgraded variant called the Super Nobel Gundam appears, featuring head-mounted vulcan pods designed to look like hair buns. The machine has also made numerous guest appearances across video games and subsequent anime series, such as custom Gunpla models in Gundam Build Fighters.
