Serving as a captain and ace mobile suit pilot for the Earth Federation's elite Titans faction, he is depicted as a fierce warrior who lives purely for the thrill of battle. Appearance
Yazan Gable is a man characterized by dark skin and blonde hair styled in a pompadour. He has a villainous facial feature and bears a turtle tattoo on his chest. During his service with the Titans, he wore a distinctive yellow jacket that was left wide open at the chest, accompanied by wristbands.
Personality
Yazan Gable is a fiercely aggressive battle enthusiast who lives for physical combat and technical mastery. Indifferent to the political doctrines of the Titans, he holds a personal honor code that makes him despise inhumane acts such as poison gas attacks and colony drops. Although ruthless toward enemies and willing to eliminate allies who interfere in battle, he displays a surprisingly protective and encouraging attitude toward his subordinates, acting as a reliable senior figure. In later years, operating under the alias Vasuki, his personality tempers into a more intelligent and polite demeanor while retaining his passion for the battlefield.
Abilities
Yazan Gable is an exceptionally skilled mobile suit pilot with extensive combat experience. Despite being an Oldtype, his combat capabilities match or exceed those of powerful Newtypes, allowing him to fight on par with opponents like Kamille Bidan and Judau Ashta. He excels in tactical team maneuvers, notably executing the "spiderweb" formation while piloting the Hambrabi, and is proficient with weapons such as the Sea Serpent. Throughout his career, he demonstrates remarkable adaptability by operating a wide variety of machines, including the Gaplant, Hambrabi, Geze, GM Night Seeker, and Gundam Mk-II.
Background
Having spent a turbulent youth, Yazan Gable served as a Titans captain during the Gryps Conflict in Universal Century 0087. Initially assigned to the warship Alexandria, he later transferred to Paptimus Scirocco's command aboard the Dogosse Giar following serious clashes with his superior officer. Leading a trio of Hambrabi suits, he inflicted severe losses on the Anti-Earth Union Group. Following the destruction of his machine at Gryps 2, he drifted in an escape pod to the colony Shangri-La in Side 1, where he fruitlessly plotted to steal the Zeta Gundam with local youths including Judau Ashta. By Universal Century 0090, he rejoined the Earth Federation Forces under the pseudonym Vasuki Bajack, leading the Night Jaeger squadron.
Relationships
Yazan Gable established a mutually respectful working relationship with Paptimus Scirocco, recognizing Scirocco's talent while serving under his command. Conversely, he harbored deep animosity toward his former superior officer Jamaican Daningan, deliberately drawing enemy fire to eliminate him. He shared strong camaraderie with his wingmen Dunkel Cooper and Ramsus Hasa, showing genuine anger upon their deaths. On the battlefield, he developed fierce rivalries with Newtype pilots such as Kamille Bidan and Judau Ashta, later engaging in a complex, shifting dynamic with Judau on Shangri-La.
Trivia
In the early narrative arc of Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ, Yazan Gable serves as a bridge between series, taking on a lighter tone while providing the impetus for Judau Ashta to venture into space. In the manga Mobile Suit Gundam MSV-R: The Return of Johnny Ridden, after operating under the pseudonym Vasuki Bajack for years, he officially reveals his true identity as Yazan Gable late in the story. Across various video game adaptations, including the Super Robot Wars series, he is consistently featured as one of the most formidable non-Newtype pilot adversaries in the franchise.
