Equipped with green eyes and a V-fin antenna, the suit uses Variable Phase Shift armor. Its head sensor mast is modified into a crest beam blade launcher, raising total height by nearly one meter, with single CIWS guns at the temples and cheek vents. The forehead retains the inscription reading X-19A DICIANNOVE. The chest features a pink cockpit hatch, omits lime green accents, and has parallelogram-shaped vents. It features enlarged shoulder guards, sharper leg contours with expanded calf sub-thrusters, and front skirt vents moved to the upper front. Its back is fitted with the gray M2X32E Forantes wing pack.

It incorporates the head-mounted MA-F2002 Spitzeschwert Beam Horn with pitch adjustment, paired with temple and chest 20mm CIWS units. Its arsenal includes connectable MA-M03D Akuta Lacerta Beam Sabers and MMI-S1M7 Tonitrus Beam Heavy Slashing Blades along the lower legs. Defense is supplied by the MX2002 Beam Carry Shield, containing a beam shield generator, boomerang, and grapple stinger. The back-mounted M2X32E Forantes pack incorporates 360-degree swiveling jet engines, housing beam risers, long-range beam cannons, and Scorpio air-to-air missiles, while also supporting a prototype Type 35 railgun.

Following the major war, Representative Chief Cagalli Yula Athha of the Orb Union commissioned engineer Erika Simmons at Morgenroete Inc. to modify the unit. Initially utilized for testing the Cavalier AIFRID system, it was formally assigned to Athrun Zala upon his transfer to Terminal. To keep its presence hidden during covert operations, the unit operated concealed beneath a custom Z'Gok armor shell. During the final conflict, after intercepting an attack to protect the Strike Freedom Gundam Type II, the outer shell disintegrated, revealing the mobile suit in its true form for battle.

The machine is piloted by Athrun Zala. Its refitting was initiated by Representative Chief Cagalli Yula Athha of the Orb Union and led by Morgenroete engineer Erika Simmons. On the battlefield, it coordinates directly with Kira Yamato operating the Strike Freedom Gundam Type II. During the climax of the conflict, it engages in an intense duel against Shura Serpentine, pilot of the Black Knight Squad Shiva.

Many of its newly added weapons utilize terminology derived from German (such as Spitzeschwert and Hageleisen) and Latin (such as Tonitrus and Scorpio). The M2X32E Forantes backpack represents an evolutionary development drawing structural feedback from the Ootori striker pack originally built for the Strike Rouge.
