Overview
The AGX-04 Gerbera Tetra is a high-performance assault mobile suit featured in Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. Originally constructed by Anaheim Electronics as the RX-78GP04G Gundam Development Project prototype, it was modified and secretly transferred to the Cima Fleet, serving as the personal unit of Cima Garahau.
Appearance
The machine features a deep crimson color scheme and a curved, Zeon-style exterior built over its inner frame, complete with a single mono-eye main camera. Its back and shoulders house three integrated high-capacity thrusters, and it can attach a massive, external Sturm Booster that combines a propellant tank with additional verniers.
Abilities
Designed for close-quarters warfare and rapid attack, it boasts exceptional speed and maneuverability. Its primary weapon is a specialized beam machine gun capable of rapid pulse fire, equipped with an automatic thermal management system. It carries two beam sabers stored inside its thigh armor and possesses four integrated 110mm machine cannons built directly into its forearms. Equipping the optional Sturm Booster boosts its total engine thrust from 216,000 kg to 316,000 kg, allowing for extraordinary acceleration and expanded operational reach.
Background
The unit began as the GP04 project, which was officially canceled due to overlapping roles with the GP01. However, engineers completed the frame, redesigned its armor to conceal its Federation origins, and delivered it to Cima Garahau. Deployed during the climax of the Stardust Operation, the unit participated in heavy combat before engaging Kou Uraki in the RX-78GP03 Dendrobium. During the engagement, its torso was impaled by the Dendrobium's massive mega beam cannon barrel and destroyed by a point-blank blast.
Relationships
The machine was piloted exclusively by Lieutenant Commander Cima Garahau, commander of the Cima Fleet. Its primary adversary during its final battle was Kou Uraki, who piloted the Earth Federation's massive RX-78GP03 Dendrobium.
Trivia
The designation "Gerbera" derives from the vivid flowering plant, while "Tetra" signifies the number four in Greek, referencing its history as the fourth GP prototype. The mecha was designed by Mika Akitaka.
