Overview
The GAT-X105+AQM/E-YM1 Perfect Strike Gundam is an all-purpose heavy assault mobile suit variant from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED HD Remaster. Built around the Strike Gundam, it equips the Multiple Assault Striker pack, which unifies the capabilities of the Aile, Sword, and Launcher Striker packs into a single loadout. Originally conceived as a model kit gimmick, it was officially integrated into the animated canon as a high-firepower, full-spectrum combat configuration.
Appearance
The unit combines the standard Strike Gundam body with an enhanced Aile Striker backpack featuring extended support arms. A cluster of five external battery packs is mounted along the central flight unit. The shoulders and left forearm are fitted with equipment mounts: a combo weapon pod sits on the right shoulder, a beam boomerang base on the left shoulder, and a rocket anchor on the left forearm. Two large weapons, a massive anti-ship sword and a long-barrel impulse cannon, are secured via the backpack arms.
Abilities
Equipped for all combat ranges, its arsenal includes the 320mm Agni hyper impulse cannon for long-range bombardments and the 15.78m Schwert Gewehr anti-ship sword for close-quarters fighting. A combined pod on the right shoulder integrates a 120mm anti-ship vulcan cannon with a dual 350mm gun launcher. Defensively, the Panzer Eisen rocket anchor mounted on the left arm features a beam-coated shield face. It also houses Midas Messer beam boomerangs, Armor Schneider combat knives, and beam sabers. To power these combined systems, five external battery packs provide energy and are jettisoned as they drain.
Background
The Multiple Assault Striker pack was delivered to the Archangel alongside the Skygraspers. Kira Yamato initially declined to equip it, citing concerns over doubled suit mass, reduced mobility, and complex control systems. During the defense of Orb, Mu La Flaga fielded the configuration in combat against enemy Strike Dagger forces. Despite achieving tactical success, the excessive weight and maintenance burdens confirmed its operational drawbacks. The unit was retired after a single sortie, though its integrated multi-pack concept influenced subsequent developments such as the Ootori Striker.
Relationships
Kira Yamato was the original pilot of the Strike Gundam who recognized the drawbacks of the heavy combined pack and chose not to deploy it. Mu La Flaga became its operational pilot during the Battle of Orb, wielding its full arsenal in defense of the island. On the battlefield, the unit fought alongside Kira Yamato in the Freedom Gundam and the Orb Defense Force's M1 Astray units, while engaging front-line threats such as the Calamity Gundam.
Trivia
The design originates from a model kit custom gimmick known as 'Super Strike Gundam' featured in SD Gundam BB Warrior kits prior to its animated canonical debut. In various video game adaptations, damage or energy consumption is visually represented by the dynamic jettisoning of the battery packs from the suit's back.
