S Gundam
The S Gundam (model number MSA-0011), short for Superior Gundam, is a prototype mobile suit appearing in the photo-novel Gundam Sentinel. Developed by Anaheim Electronics under the Zeta Project, it represents an advanced fourth-generation design equipped with high-output generators and modular components. In the story, it is assigned to Ensign Ryu Roots of the Alpha Task Force during the Pezun Rebellion.

Appearance
The suit is visually distinguished by large yellow intakes on the sides of its head and an INCOM unit housed in the top of the scalp. It features exceptionally bulky shoulder blocks that house internal generators and bear the VMsAWrs logo along their sliding surfaces. Specialized beam cannons are attached to the thighs and backpack via movable frames. When equipped with its signature Beam Smart Gun, the rifle connects via a support arm on the right and an energy unit on the left. The unit splits into three independent craft: the G-Attacker, G-Bomber, and G-Core.
Personality
The S Gundam incorporates ALICE, an experimental artificial intelligence designed for unmanned operations. Although its full capabilities were initially restricted by political motives to basic combat assistance, ALICE actively supplements the pilot's inputs, allowing even inexperienced operators to execute complex combat maneuvers seamlessly.
Abilities
The machine operates five independent generators built into its shoulders, shins, and core frame, giving it enormous power output. It relies on a quasi-psycommu INCOM unit on its head to perform computer-guided all-range beam attacks. Additional armaments include a pair of 12MW beam cannons on its backpack, two 14MW beam cannons on its thighs, head and tail-stabilizer vulcan guns, and knee-stored beam sabers. The optional 56MW Beam Smart Gun connects directly to the frame, using sensor data and ALICE's calculations for precise long-range marksmanship.
Background
Originally code-named the Iota Gundam, the S Gundam was created simultaneously with the ZZ Gundam line. Due to the high complexity of its systems and extreme manufacturing costs, only four prototype units were built, and formal mass production was abandoned. One of these units was secretly unlocked and deployed into active combat during the suppression of the Pezun Rebellion.
Relationships
Ensign Ryu Roots serves as the designated pilot of the machine during the conflict. During operations where the S Gundam was forced to perform a mid-combat docking sequence, a friendly Z Plus unit bought necessary time by protecting the vulnerable machine at the cost of its own defense.
Trivia
Designed as a modular weapon system rather than a solitary mecha, the S Gundam served as the foundation for multiple specialized configurations, including the Ex-S Gundam, the Bst heavy-booster type, and the Deep Striker design plan. Its lower body architecture was also adapted into the development of the mass-produced Nero.
