Sochie Heim

Overview

Sochie Heim is a heroine in Turn A Gundam and its film adaptations. The younger daughter of a wealthy mining family in Vicinity and the younger sister of Kihel Heim, she is one of the first Earthlings encountered by the protagonist, Loran Cehack. After coming of age alongside Loran, her peaceful life is shattered by the arrival of the Dianna Counter. Driven by the loss of her father, she joins the Inglessa Militia to fight against the Moonrace, undergoing significant personal growth throughout the conflict.

Appearance

Sochie is a young girl with short brown hair and brown eyes. Her attire includes dresses as well as delicate lingerie featured with lace trim, revealing her collarbone, complemented by white thigh-high socks.

Personality

Sochie is headstrong, emotional, and intensely reactive. Grief and anger over her family's tragedies initially fuel a fierce hostility toward the Moonrace, leading her to react violently when discovering Loran's true origins. Impelled partly by insecurity and jealousy regarding Loran's devotion to her sister and Queen Dianna, she impulsively agrees to an engagement. However, confronting severe personal grief and gaining insight into others softens her outlook, turning her into a resilient and empathetic individual.

Abilities

As a combat pilot for the Inglessa Militia, Sochie operates various mobile suits. Her primary machine is the AMX-109 Kapool, but she has also piloted the WD-M01 Turn A Gundam, the FLAT-L06D Flat, and the MS-06 Borjarnon.

Background

Raised in Vicinity as the daughter of a prominent mining owner, Sochie lived alongside her sister Kihel and her family. During her coming-of-age ceremony with Loran, the Dianna Counter attack disrupted her life, taking her father's life and shattering her mother's mental health. Prompted by her friend Meshen Kun, she enlisted in the militia to take revenge. Over the course of the war, she endured further grief, including the death of her fiancé Gavane Goonny in a nuclear blast. Understanding the hardships of Queen Dianna through Kihel broadened her view. At the war's conclusion, she bade a tearful farewell to both her sister, who remained on the Moon, and Loran, who departed to care for Dianna, returning home to Vicinity to live with her mother.

Relationships

Sochie harbored romantic feelings for Loran Cehack, though his Moonrace origins caused temporary friction between them. While she felt inferior to her elegant elder sister Kihel Heim, their underlying bond remained deep. She shares a close friendship with fellow militia pilot Meshen Kun and was briefly engaged to military commander Gavane Goonny before his tragic death.
