Overview

Mobile Doll May is a stylized mecha-girl Gunpla from Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE. Serving as the true form of the EL-Diver May, the machine functions both as her GBN avatar and her physical vessel in the real world. Initially hidden inside the heavy armor of the Wodom Pod, it was built specifically for active combat, combining high mobility, martial arts, and specialized beam weaponry.

Appearance

Mobile Doll May takes the form of a mechanical female robot resembling May, featuring mechanical facial features, hair, and manipulators. Its hair is coated with a special screen sheet capable of dynamically altering colors and patterns, resulting in distinct hair coloration between its real and MS modes. It features holster mounts on both thighs, beam saber generators at the forearm tips, and hexagonal beam shield generators on the upper arms. In the real world, her dedicated body features human-like facial skin texture capable of expressing human emotions, including a pouting face.

Personality

While generally appearing cool and stoic, May exhibits subtle emotional expressions—such as pouting—when inhabiting her real-world body. In battle, she possesses a fierce, decisive combat mindset, willingly turning defensive gear like beam shields into offensive strikes. She also shows clear personal satisfaction with her equipment choices, taking a particular liking to the forearm-integrated beam sabers added during her machine's design phase.

Abilities

Mobile Doll May specializes in high-agility martial arts and close-quarters melee combat. It comes equipped with dual beam handguns mounted on its thighs for rapid shooting, alongside beam sabers generated directly from its forearms. Mounted on the upper arms are hexagonal beam shield generators modeled after a miniaturized Gundam F91 shield; these shields can be operated remotely and used offensively. Additionally, inside GBN, May operates the Mobile Doll itself to physically manipulate the cockpit controls within the Wodom Pod in a two-tiered control system.

Background

Built by the same creator as Mobile Doll Sarah to serve as a body for the EL-Diver May, the machine was initially operated covertly from within the Wodom Pod. During a confrontation against the Seltsam, May sacrificed the Wodom Pod to intercept an incoming shield launcher strike aimed at Hiroto's Marsfour Gundam. The resulting explosion destroyed the outer shell and revealed Mobile Doll May, exposing May's true nature as an EL-Diver to Hiroto and her teammates.

Relationships

Mobile Doll May is piloted by and serves as the physical presence for the EL-Diver May. It stands as a sister machine to Mobile Doll Sarah, sharing the same creator. During battle, Hiroto recognized May's true status as an EL-Diver immediately upon witnessing the Mobile Doll's appearance after she shielded his Marsfour Gundam. Mechanically, the machine incorporates design contributions from Shiba, who added the forearm beam sabers, and Koichi, who advised adding the beam shield to improve its defensive capability.

Trivia

Designed by Shimada Fumikane, Mobile Doll May was accidentally spoiled by official website character profiles immediately after episode 9 streamed, revealing May's EL-Diver status before episode 10. Prior to the reveal, May casually referred to the mono-eyed Wodom Pod with terms implying a twin-eyed machine, hinting at the humanoid inside. The HGBD:R model kit features green beam effect parts rather than the pink seen in the animated series. In Gundam Breaker 4, the machine can be derived by synthesizing Super Fumina with Gundam F91.
