The GAT-X105B Build Strike Gundam is a custom Gunpla from Gundam Build Fighters. Built by Iori Sei based on the Strike Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, it is operated in Gunpla Battles by his partner Reiji. Appearance
Based on the Strike Gundam, its visual silhouette incorporates design elements reminiscent of the Akatsuki Gundam and Freedom Gundam. Large thrusters are mounted on both shoulders. Its specialized equipment includes a Beam Rifle composed of modular barrel components, an Enhanced Beam Rifle with two barrel openings, a compact Chobham Shield constructed from layered plastic plates, and the Build Booster pack mounted on its back.
Abilities
The machine excels in high-speed maneuvering and swift melee engagements. It features four head-mounted vulcan cannons for suppression. Its hip-mounted Beam Sabers utilize rotating holders allowing ambidextrous draws or surprise attacks directly from the armor. The Beam Rifle system offers variable output adjustments and can be stripped down to a low-consumption Beam Gun. Equipping the Build Booster boosts overall machine power to 160 percent and grants flight, while enabling two deployable Large Beam Cannons. The booster can also detach to act as an independent support or escape craft. Defensively, the Chobham Shield absorbs incoming damage by breaking its layered structure upon impact.
Background
Iori Sei crafted the Gunpla for the Gunpla Battle Championship, incorporating design ideas inspired by his father Iori Takeshi's legendary battle techniques. Although initially built for himself, its extreme specs required a pilot of Reiji's natural talents to fully control. With customized adjustments and the completion of the Build Booster, it became the Build Strike Gundam Full Package. Following a devastating clash against Yuuki Tatsuya's Zaku Amazing that left the unit severely damaged, it was rebuilt and upgraded into the Star Build Strike Gundam.
Relationships
The machine was crafted and maintained by Iori Sei, while Reiji served as its primary operator in combat. Its high-speed design was inspired by the fighting style of Sei's father, Iori Takeshi. During competitive matches, it developed a fierce rivalry with Yuuki Tatsuya and his Zaku Amazing.
Trivia
The mechanical design was created by Kunio Okawara. In the story's setting, it is framed as a modification of the original HG SEED kit; however, its HGBF plastic model was released with an entirely new mold, which was subsequently reused to engineer the redesigned HG Aile Strike Gundam. Additionally, a simplified 1/144 scale kit was produced exclusively for the Chinese market.
