Visually defined by its Napoleonic knight aesthetic and left-shoulder cape shield, it carries a specialized remote weapon system known as Rose Bits. Appearance
Modeled after a Napoleonic knight, Gundam Rose features green eyes and a head-mounted V-fin. Its tricolor paint scheme incorporates yellow highlights and a light, pastel-toned blue. Mounted on its left shoulder is a large mantle-shaped shield split into multiple armor plates, while a scabbard for housing its primary melee weapon is attached to its right hip.
Abilities
The machine is armed with head-mounted vulcans and a Chevalier Saber carried in a hip scabbard. Housed inside its shoulder shield are Rose Bits, flower-shaped remote armaments capable of operating under atmospheric gravity. These bits can open to fire energy beams, generate defensive fields, or be thrown as cutting projectiles. Its specialized techniques include Rose Screamer, which traps enemies in electric energy spaces, and Rose Hurricane, which encases foes in a rotating vortex. The frame also exhibits remarkable durability and physical strength, capable of lifting massive structures and heavy opponents.
Background
Gundam Rose earned its position as Neo France's representative for the 13th Gundam Fight by defeating the Mirage Gundam in a national selection match. Operating under George de Sand, the unit fought in numerous matches across the globe, protecting Princess Maria Louise and participating in critical conflicts such as the Battle of Lantau Island against the Grand Gundam. As the representative machine for the Jack of Diamonds, it played a vital role among the new Shuffle Alliance.
Relationships
The machine is piloted by Neo France's representative fighter, George de Sand, and frequently intervenes to protect Princess Maria Louise. It maintains a historical rivalry with the Mirage Gundam, which it bested during national selection trials. Within the tournament, it stands alongside fellow Shuffle Alliance units such as Domon Kasshu's God Gundam and Chibodee Crocket's Gundam Maxter.
Trivia
Beyond its original 1/144 figure and MS IN ACTION releases, Gundam Rose received a modern plastic model kit in the HGFC line as a Premium Bandai exclusive in 2022. The design has also been adapted into several SD Gundam spin-offs, including Musha Washizu, Kenshi Rose Gundam, and Stream Rose. In the Super Robot Wars tactical RPG series, it is notable for wielding a map attack version of the Rose Screamer that avoids friendly targets.
